Inactive members really inactive?

Having run a gaming clan for 4-5 years now I always dislike booting inactive members due to the real life syndrome (dung happens) kicking in…

My question is, if someone’s name says inactive in GW they are just not playing? Could they have had only the one name and deleted it starting over with a different name not connected to any guild thus leaving a dead name in the roster? Is their guild affiliation connected to their name or their account?

Thanx for any help in advance...

Right but if you were to delete all your characters and start another would you still be in the guild?

You might want to consider this...if you have a guildmate, and he chooses to to be hidden from you and everyone else for that matter, he can be active and playing the game, but it will never say that he's online, not even in the Guild Menu.

Are you sure? So guild members can hide their presence for the guild? Sounds to me even more a reason to remove them.
But for statistical reasons I believe its more likely that players really did not get online for GW for the period shown in the Guild list.

If you set yourself to offline in the Friends list, then you won't appear as online in the Guild list. But more likely than not they just haven't played.

and you're automatically set to online when you log in, so it will at least note the last time you/the lame noob who "never plays" were on, on the guild page.

Your account is linked to your guild no matter what, until you voluntarily remove yourself from it. Characters being erased and whatnot don't matter.
