[RENAMED] Losing good upgrades with Expert Salvage
NekoZ
Perfect Sundering Falchion of Shelter- what do I salvage? Iron Ingots.
Perfect Vampiric Long Sword- what do I salvage? Iron Ingots.
I don't understand how unlucky I can be.. anyone else ever have this problem?
And yes I was using an Expert Salvage Kit.

did you identify them first???
Starbeast
Yes I think we've all done this countless times.. there is one thing i'm curious about though. This seems to happen to me over and over again, lets say I find a firey cleaver of perfect enchanting. I have abosulutly no use for the firey haft but I could put that enchanting mod to good use. The things is thou when I expert salvage something If an item has a prefix mod on it I always no matter what unlock that instead of the suffix mod. Is this just the way it works or is my luck that bad?
NekoZ
Yes I did identify it first (I once did that though, expert salvaged an unidentified and got a fiery haft). And countless times that has happened to me, perfect enchant.. get the other mod.. perfect hale.. get the other mod. I can't even get 1 mod this time. So damn frustrating just lost atleast 100k in two runs -_-
KaPe
You didn't "lose" anything, you didn't *gain* that, that's *huge* difference and I suggest you learn it. I might sometimes
when I lose good item from salvaging, but I'm not about to make whole thread about it.

huh
Hmmm.
I advertised to sell very expensive wood planks at the expense of my perfect bow grip of fortitude at LA.
No bites though

That's really unlucky OP.
I seem to be at the opposite end of the scale. I have found two 5:1 vampiric bows during the last five months and on both occasions i salvaged the string!

Tried to expert salvage super absorp form my old armor, yes i got 2 steel ingots. You can imagain how gutted, angry, pissed, annoyed i was, this game hates me more. This is only 1 occasion of bad luck and my worste

NekoZ
Yeah it is just its always happening.. I just tested with random blues and stuff and the mod won't come off at all for me anymore. It's really wierd (also lost my sup vigor BeatWolf, not as expensive but I know how ya feel)
One and Two
I lost my perfect vamp string to the expert salvage.
rsx
It happened to me the other day when I got a bone staff with +5 defensive staff head and a +30 health staff wrapping. I expert salvaged it and what did I end up with? +5 defensive staff head

Arturo02
we need a super-duper expert salvage kit
FalconDance
I am so reluctant to salvage the really good mods now that I have the tendancy to leave the weap intact and sell "as is".....let the buyer have the honors
.

Asplode
I once salvaged an unidentified rare longbow and got an unidentified bowstring :O

I got a bow with +29 health mod on it and even thought the bow is decent (15-26 (req 9) +14% in stance and lengthen poison duration with the +29 health on it, i didn't want to salvage it cuz from past experience. The salvage kit always give me something else that i didn't want.

I've always hated the component/salvage system when it comes to PvE. I'm not sure that preventing so many good mods get trashed by salvaging would improve the game on a whole, but God knows it would suit me just fine.
Though, failing making components being easier to get, I'd love it if they did more things like Green weapons or Collectors/Crafters who offer weapons with perfect components. They can make the dang font pink for all I care, I spend little time gawking at the text color of my gear in preference to using it. :P

I vote for that mega expert salavage thing to have an option that lets you choose what you want to salvage out of an item.

My guild mates have bad luck salvaging too. Fiery xx Fortitude? They get the fiery hilt
They pretty much asks me to salvage all of their stuff. So far so good... only one bad salvage so far (knock on wood).

) result = 3 gold bows, 2 5:1 strings available, marksmanship 19% grip available, what do i get.......... 46 wood planks

Sister Rosette
I never salvage anymore. I just sell as is.
It's usually less than the mod, but it's guaranteed.

Plus, sup abs hit the 100k mark just as it happened and I'd seen someone selling one for 75k 10 minutes earlier so it was a double whammy

I ended up spending over 200k in one night getting my 15k armor, runes and dye combination I wanted.

I lost a Superior Absorption and a Superior Vigor rune this past weekend after I bought new armor. 170K gone in 10 seconds. Both minors salvaged of course.
