She usually dies at the first group, unless there'a a random lucky spawn and we get to the second.
Did something happen to the ice caves of sorrow?
Beomagi
The ice caves are pretty easy to get to the end when you're taking evinnia back. But It is rather difficult to kill fast enough to keep her from being killed by the mursaat. Any ideas? Something must have been changed, because I remember doing this with henches before.

when u get to the mursatt mob of ele part, u have to WAIT for them to past and just tail them. let the mursats clear the way for u
Beomagi
Thanks, I'll try that when i get back from work.

Are you saying you would attack the group of 30 Mursaat Elementalists drifting by? Just follow at a distance and let the siege weapons take care of them!
dargon
hell, follow them and let them clear the path, clean up any stragglers they miss and then go back and free evinnia, keeps her from going off to seek vengence

you know, i clearly remember doing it that way my first time through the mission months ago
just stay ahead of the mursaat while they're chasing you and run, and i never had a problem with it that way
but a week ago i tried to do it again with a couple guildmates, and i tried to do it that way again and got slaughtered, only to then receive derision from the people who were with me

Yay it worked
The first time through 3 survived and waited accross the bridge, without bothering to fight the 2 doloyak healers and one unique guy. so i got wiped out. Ale and lina did their best
[yes for the most part, i play with henches when my mates arn't around. Frankly people that wait for an hour begging for 2 monks i find ridiculous]
Second time around, i waited till they were in siege and let my aggroo bubble lip them before running away. They turned around, tried to follow back through the siege area and died - w00t
And no - i never tried fighting the group. But earlier on, fighting the groups and stay ahead of the mursaat was possible.

I definitely think they have adjusted this mission in some way. My first time through the game, my husband and I did this mission with henchies on the first try, no problems. We rescued Evennia, killed all the mobs in our path, and were still way out in front of the massive Mursaat group.
The past two times, we have had to resort to letting the catapults take out the Mursaat before we could finish the mission (after Evennia died the first couple tries). The mission is easily finished this way, but I still believe it was changed at some point. Perhaps they sped up the Mursaat?
Nice to know we weren't the only ones to have that problem.

Evennia has never died all the times I have done the mission with my guild mates or with my own characters to complete it. Its one easy mission IMO and I enjoy it a lot. I've always waited for that mob of 30 mursaat to pass as I can then take my time, clear who remains and collect elite skills from the bosses. (Yes there are a couple)
Shadowdaemon
yeah they have definately changed it a bit, i used to just do it with henchies all the time and i would just run ahead and kill everything before the mursaat moved, now they move alot sooner, so just wait and follow em, also, that chick dont die now all the time, the one avennia swears she is gonna avenge

Haha, yes we (me & henchies & Evennia) all died my first attempt because I listened to that stupid Evennia when she said "run and don't stop for anything". So of course we get stopped by that first mob up the path on the left and then the Mursaat come up behind us and wiped us all out.
Then I read a tip that said to clear the way first before busting out Evennia. Now, that first time, I'd initially gone to the right and saw the green dot up behind the big group of red dots, so I waited to let the red dots pass to go find out what the dreen dot was (the bonus quest). Then I followed the Mursaat and was pleasantly surprized to see that not only did they clear most of the path for me but that they all also got wiped out by the catapults.
