Interesting Ranger/Elementalist Build

Hey guys, I'm pretty new at making builds, and I couldn't figure out where to post it, so I'm sticking it here, sorry if this is the wrong place.

Anyways, I came up with an interesting ranger/elementalist build that I wanted to hear some comments on.

Attributes
Expertise 11+2=13 (+1 mask, +1 rune)
Water Magic 12
Wilderness Survival 6+1=7 (+1 rune)

Skills:
Water Trident {E}
Water Attunement
Maelstrom
Shard Storm
Ice Spikes
Greater Conflarigation
Storm Chaser
Serpent's Quickness

Equipment
Drakescale Chest/Legs
Druid Gloves/Boots
Mask +1 Expertise

This build is for pretty general use, the interesting thing here is that you don't use bows to attack, even though you're a primary ranger. The skill to spam here is Water Trident. With expertise at 13, it only costs 2 energy, while still dealing out a good 50+ damage and doubling as a snare, but it does have a 3 second cooldown time. To fix the cooldown time, I got serpent's quickness, which should give you a good 20+ seconds of a trident every 2 seconds. If mana gets tight, you can do water attunement, which I think would drop the cost down to 1, but I can't really test that right now. The greater conflarigation makes all damage fire damage for about 86 seconds at that level, paired with the drakescale chest/legs giving you a good 115 armor. The storm chaser serves a double purpose here. Not only is it good for travel, giving you 25% faster running speed for a good amount of time (forgot the numbers there). But, it also gives you 4 energy every time you get hit by elemental damage, which will be frequent with greater conflarigation. This stops any mana problem flat in it's tracks. Finally, I tossed in shard storm and ice spikes because they both not only do a good 70 damage, but double as a weaker snare than the trident. If the monks/mesmers group together, you could pull ice spikes to slow them, and a maelstrom to take their spellcasting out of comission for some time. Not to mention, this does do more damage per second than firestorm.

The part that I see going wrong with this build is A) The damage output might not be up to par with a warrior, ranger, or fire elementalist, and B) It would be tricky to maintain all the buffs there, so chances are some of them wouldn't get used an awful lot, although each does serve a purpose. Serpant's Quickness or water attunement could be subbed with troll ungent to get some nice healing in there.

Got some better ideas for the build? Comments please.

Read expertise description again... it doesn't talk about spells.
