Hi there, I'm currently having a bit of grief installing GW, I'm installing it on my second computer, as my other computer decided to keel over and die on me (The USB ports atleast )

I searched back a bit, and encountered a few issues quite similar to the one that I have myself, which is, in question, the infamous "Connecting to Arena Net" screen at the beginning of installation, I have no firewalls, that i'm aware of..

And the only thing I could possibly think that it could be would be my Router. But that seems unlikely because I already flawlesssly installed the game on my normal computer, the router, in question, is a SMC Barricade SMC7004VWBR... I haven't really had issues with the router before this, and I have had guild wars installed on this computer in question before, prior to formatting my harddrive, attached is a screencap of the issue itself, the bar just decides to freeze on me.

if you have no firewall on, and you have servive pack 2 installed, windows automatically enables its own windows firewall, so i bet that is what is preventing you playing.

Windows Firewall is currently quite beaten down and disabled, SP2 Firewall is the bane of all humanity.

I would download and run this utility from Anet:

I would look at the log file it creates and see's where it can't communicate.

Mmkay... So I have to send the results of the trace to Guild Wars?

I'll just wait for easier responses . I'm still sending it in, however.
