Do i need a new weapon?

im a level 8 warrior with a hammer thats 8-11 damage...and it seems i cant take enemies that are the same level as me...these stupid lvl 8 shatter gargoyles are hard. Can someone tell me if im doing something wrong?

you have been distributing your attribute points into strength i presume?

which skills do you have in your skillbar and what is your 2nd profession?

ironically the first quest you get when you arrive post searing is one to run back and forth for a second adn get a 11-17 Hammersmastery 3 hammer....so um yeah...you need a new weapon.
