The Signet Master PvP Me/Mo
Guizzy
Ok, so this build is very experimental, but I find it quite nice so far.
---------
Me/Mo
Domination: 12
Inspiration: 12
Smiting: 10
Skills:
Mantra of Signets
Bane Signet
Leech Signet
Signet of Humility
Signet of Weariness
Purge Signet
Keystone Signet
Ressurection Signet
It's really a weird build; you won't be using much mana, and as such can freely use the Purge Signet. It's also a great way to fool a mesmer. Often, when you jump into a PvP and another mesmer sees you, he might start trying to e deny you or backfire you or something like that. Since signets are not spells, and the only "spell" you use is Mantra of Signets, you are immune to most kinds of shutdown. The concept here is to use all of your signets, then start Keystone signet with Mantra of Signets on. It will recharge all your signets, and Mantra of Signets will have the Keystone itself recharged. You can have another go at using all of your signets, then use the keystone signet again. Then you can start using the signets more sparingly, as you won't be able to reuse them as fast until both Mantra of Signets and Keystone Signets are back up.
The effects on the battlefield are more subtle than most other Mesmer builds; it's really good at causing disruption in the enemy plan, but in a subtle way. The Purge Signet is really a great, great boon to your team. Bane Signet is, well, the best damaging signet I could find. It's good for dropping an almost dead target; as it ignores about every kind of protection.
So there; anyone got suggestions or comments?

i think this might be better with mantra of inscriptions, with high inspiration you can have all those signets recharging rather fast and would probably bring keystone down to a 20 second recharge...but...in my opinion i would drop keystone
i would take signet of judgement as my elite instead, it acts as both a disrupter and dmger and under mantra of inscriptions would be up for use in about 20 seconds as well
keep in mind that most of these signets are 2 second casts...meaning they are easy interrupts as well as time consumers between recharges

This build is solid - we tested it a few weeks ago.
You can also run succor/holy wrath on the monks - because you don't need the energy.
The problem with this build is: it doesn't fit a role. It has energy denial, interrupts, attacks,...
edit:
everything can be countered, so don't make a fool out of yourself by posting a counter - because the counter can be countered too. And this counter can also be countered - and we are getting nowhere.
In the current meta-game hardly anyone is using primal echos and/or rust.

Rust is fun in Random Arena; kills a warrior almost outright when he uses Healing Signet.

exactly my thoughts...with this..you arent really...doing much

Unless he runs Holy Wrath and Succor on his monks, then he IS doing something rather constructive.

I don't understand why people say if a build doesn't fit a specific role it's not doing anything.
What I find being a problem in all forms of pvp, is that you often times run into builds which only 1 or 2 people out of your 8 can counter. So I think having a decent multi-use build is VERY useful to any group. That and theres always a suprise element when someone thinks they have made your build useless and you pull out something that they didn't expect. Anyway, good job dude. I like the signet idea, I'm gonna have to try it later. I would take out keystone and humility though and put in signet of judgment and mantra of inscription. Effigy
Definitely an interesting build. Not sure how it would work, but it's tempting to try in CA at least.

I'm not saying this signet build is nearless as it is useful for every signet it packs along. However, when a tombs/guild's group is organizing a team and ask you what role you intend to play, how would you answer if you planning to apply this build? Again, I'm not critizing, more towards curiosity.. Yukito Kunisaki
A good 'proven' build revolves around a battle system of sorts...
Apparently, he's just using signets to a great degree and I saw a better build using Mo/Me here in this website's guides... [life bond type, quite fierce] Rust, Primal Echoes, or worse, Ignorance... These are the counters to this build. However, if a teammate is there, hexees are removed, and Primal Echoes can easily be killed... [fun thing, nobody in pvp has EVER brought primal echoes to the table. So that in effect, makes this quite a fierce build...] However, I'd like to run something using signets based on monk since mo and me have more signets than any of the other classes.... Guizzy

Again, I'm not critizing, more towards curiosity.. Support/disruption would be what I'd say. The reason I use Keystone signet and Mantra of Signet is that I can use three times the same skills in rapid succession if it happens to be useful, thus being able to do any of the things I am able to do as if I had 3 skills to do it. Why get 3 interrupt skills when Leech Signet can be used 3 times? Mantra of Inscriptions helps with the build in general, but replacing Mantra of Signets and Keystone Signet would actually make this build hardly able to do one thing right. You wouldn't be able to interrupt more than one spell in what, 20 seconds? You wouldn't be able to remove conditions more than once? You wouldn't deal damage more than once? Serps
Looks very flexible.
Mr Jazzy
i was thinking up a build like this too! except ditch the keystone sig and just go straight for sig of judgment. way better imo
Racthoh
I always just used Mantra of Inscriptions for Devotion and Blessed. Never thought about making a whole build revolving around them...
Best part being that the counters are Rust and Primal Echoes. Rust being labled as the worst skill in the game (outside a certain ranger beast mastery skill...) and Primal Echoes... yeah, that sees a lot of playing. You won't take extra damage from say Savage Slash, most mesmer interrupts, and a lot more. |
