Fix Sigil Costs Again
Navaros
A long time ago a change was made to lower Sigil/Guild Hall prices from 100k, what they used to sell for.
Well...that change has continued to leech away slowly at the price of sigils to the point now where sigils are not even worth the effort to win. Sigils now sell for 30k, and that's certainly not worth the effort of winning the Hall for. Especially since winning the Hall once most likely won't get you a sigil anyhow.
So now that sigils have went from being way over-priced, to the polar opposite - now they are way under-priced - the time for a new change from the devs is needed. Sigils must be made to be worth a reasonable amount of gold. Which should probably be 50k.
This is going to require the devs to implement a change that makes it so.

i have a couple problems with this.
1) 30k is still a lot of money for many people
2) you don't necessarily go to HoH for Sigils. you go for the possibility of getting max'd weapons and such.
i'm not sure i see the point to be honest. if someone can be bothered to save up 30k for a sigil then they can be bothered to save up 50k. if they can't be bothered to save up 30k then they just won't bother whether you raise the prices or not.
this suggestion only helps the people who farm sigils. the rich get richer kinda thing.

Its generally not an individual thing. MOst people gte themselves and a few friends to split the cost to start a guild (and get sigils to get a hall) to guarentee that the guild wont flop and atleast have some mebers.. even then its not guranteed to remain alive.

Yes, not as many guilds are being created, so then we have a drop in the prices.
It's a simple concept to understand.
Now, not only do sigils drop from that chest, but so do items... And, not only that, but you get quite a bit of faction, especially from holding the hall. Well, not only that... but, if you're in a guild, your guild name becomes known as well... Oh ya... need i say that it opens up fow and uw...
Edit:: Crap, i forgot all about fame/rank... you also get quite a bit of fame, doh... so many things, why are you complaining?
So, where do you get your idea that getting sigils is the only reason/temptation to go for the hall of hero's? Because frankly, you don't make an intelligent arguement.

Uh, How often do you build a guild hall.
If it is 100K and you have
5 people-20K each<-- bad for nonfarmers
10 people- 10K each <--okay price
20 people- 5K each <-- decent
(Break point for a decent sized guild)
30people-3.34K each <-- is that a lot, I think not
40 people-2.5K<-- O wow.
50 people-2K<--that's about one piece of Droknar armor
Faction is capped at 10K on person.

Right. You go for maxed items and such. Like these wonderful maxed items I got after holding Hall for about 7-9 rounds in a row a couple of weeks ago.

That's some huge motivation eh?
Oh yeah, last night I held the Hall for 4 - 5 rounds in a row. I got one sigil for that, and these:
As you can see, the "maxed item" drop rewards in HoH also need major fixing and at the present time are an insulting joke. As per the other thread. But that's another issue entirely. Not only does that need fixing, but sigil prices do too.
My point is that PVP players are not being fairly rewarded for winning HoH, which is supposed to be the ultimate achievement in this game. PVP players are getting ripped off big-time, and it's not fair. Sigils are supposed to be worth a reasonably high amount of money to the seller, and at the present time they are not. Therefore that's a problem.

Me, as a newb in PvP do have respect for this. But what you would get is people who are rank (i guess)+6 will win HOH more often, making them VERY rich.
I think winning in HOH should be seen as something very nice, which by far not everyone will ever experience. Some(like me) will probably never come in HOH. Only to win there u should be happy about.

Almost-worthless sigils drop, total crap gold items drop, there is no fame bonus tied to winning the HoH map at all, and the most faction you will ever have for holding HoH is 10k faction - which I could easily get by doing Tombs runs for 2 hours without winning HoH at all. Yet you say I am the one not making an intelligent argument?

As for the weapons you're bitching about, that Holy Rod would come in handy to a Monk/Mes, you should try selling it instead of bitching about it.
How exactly do you want PVP players to be rewarded. Number 1, if you're a PVP player and not a PVE player, what the hell do you care about money for anyway? #2 you get lots of faction for holding that spot. And Faction, last time I checked, is the biggest reward there is in PVP. So maybe I'm missing the point of PVP (Competing against others, having fun, enjoying time with your friends and guildmates), but if you're playing it just for monetary rewards, you're playing it for the wrong reason

Speaking as the owner of a tiny guild, it's already taken me two weeks of playing a few hours a day just to get 1/2 of the sigil price. My guildies (a total of two of them) are newbies and thus don't have enough money to contribute- one of them has a total saving of 2k, and she's holding it to buy her Drok's armor.
Please don't raise the prices. I've got to save up because I don't have TS or ventrilo (the parents disapprove, and I'm still underage) and thus can't play in Tombs. It's the only way for me to get a guild hall, and thus the only way for me to actually get people to join my guild- guilds without a guild hall aren't very popular =/

Oh, and you're guild/name can become shot accross the land. This argument should be over.

For those people criticising money from pvp, surely we deserve some kind of reward for actually working for our victories instead of killing creeps countless times ..and not the shabby rewards we do get..
weapons with stupidly high req. and sigils becoming worthless.
EternalTempest
30k is too low... I'm slowly over time trying to earn 15k (materials already gathered) to buy parts of my citadel armor, one at a time.... I just want to point out not everyone is in the market or have the gold. I do agree if a guild pulls from there member for a hall it's not too bad depending on the number of people in the guild.
It's supply and demand. Expect the price to go up with guild storage for those guilds that have < 10 members or guild of one wanting more storage once the feature is implemented.

I spend my faction as i get it, so 10k max is fine, especially since even if you have zero and get up to 10k, that's 3 elite skills + 1 non-elite.... well worth it all by itself... try to capture 3 good elites, and get one skill for that same time spent... There is a "chance" to get good items from the chest, either way, it doesnt matter. Sigils worthless? Who cares... (oh wait, whiny brats do hate that fact dont they?)

Your point about faction is moot because getting 10k faction is easy to do in 2 hours without ever holding the Hall.
You can maybe get around 60 Fame on a run if you get to HoH without skipping maps, but again winning HoH is irrelevant to that.
Winning HoH should not be mostly irrelevant to playing in Tombs. But right now it is, since all the "rewards" for winning it suck. The latest sigil price drop is just the most recent way the game is adding insult to injury to PVP players who were already poorly-rewarded for winning HoH long before the sigil price went under 30k.
Thx for flaming me and my Guild btw, just goes to underscore my points even more about who's not making the intelligent argument here.
