Quick (stupid) question, I was just wondering if handling a new graphics card without wearing an anti-static wristband can damage it. Mine came in the post and my mother took it out of it's bag -_- (she put it back but that's not the point!).
Okay thanks.

Hi,
Technically speaking if you touch the chips and have any static built up in your body you can reduce the lifespan of the card. Worse case scenario it could be fried.
That said though, having handled these things for years without any concern at all for the static I have not damaged any components.
So you should be fine, just dont tell your mother that
EternalTempest
Sounds like you are safe. Static can damage and / or kill a device.
A) Some static - no damage
B) Static Discharge - One time glitch, goes away
C) Some Damage - Random Glitches, shortened lifespan -> dead
D) Lethal Damage - Something is killed, card will be damaged dead
Again from your situation it sounds like your fine.
Note from a tech perspective. C is the worse to trouble shoot.
