Shocking Bowstring or Sundering Bowstring

Okay I have a question as to which Bowstring I should use. I am currently running a Trap build with a minimal amount of interrupt thrown in. I have the collectors Max dmg 15>50 Ascalon Compund bow and I am looking for an upgrade to apply to the string. I dont wanna go Vamp cause I am not wild about the health loss.

I decided on the Sundering string first for the Armor Pen chance, but then I was thinking and doesnt all lightning damage have an AP chance? If so which string is better.

I will not be running Conjure Lightning.

No, Lightning damage does not have inherent armour penetration, only certain lightning spells have that.

Sundering is probably the worst mod you can possibly put on, as it gives roughly a 1% damage increase. Go with Vampiric or Zealous, they remain the best prefixes in the game.

Zealous is the -to energy Regen/gain energy right? That may be helpful. How much do those normally run?

u should really only have ur Vamp and Zealous mods on ur short/half bows... or else ur losing more hp/energy then gaining... u could also put them on flatbows if ur running rtw or fav. winds...

and yeah... sund. strings are crap... if ur only options are a Shocking string or a sundering... go with the shocking... atleast then u can take conjure light. and do some good dmg

Yeah I would but it on a Halfmoon or Shortbow for sure.

Right now I have a Poison string on a max dam Flatbow that I use to pull stuff (mainly PvE right now) it seems to work fairly well.

Well those werent my ONLY two choices, they were just the two I was thinking about at the time, although at the time I completley forgot about the Zealous string. That seems to be my best choice I think.
