I had a problem recently with my game crashing repeatedly. Did all the normal stuff, nothing worked.
Then, one enterprising guildmate of mind suggest perhaps the crashes were being caused by a power consumption problem. This hadn't dawned upon me beforehand. It turns out, I'm only running a 300w PS, when my computers spec requires a minimum of 400w, 500w is recomended.
If a lot of you are having crash problems, might I suggest turning off any cool lighting (cathodes, LED fans, etc), and in your system BIOS drop your AGP multiplier down a bit, say, from 8x drop it to 4x, and then try the game again.
This worked for me, perhaps a possible fix for some of you as well?

Woo! Something new! *Worships you*
But in all seriousness, that's a damned good idea, or, if you're feeling particularly jovial, go out and buy yourself a brand spankin' new 600w Powersupply for 100-110 or less =D.
Nice Suggestion, however .
