Guild Hall, Vent, Guesting, PvE, or the occasional HA match...

Dark Alley [dR]

OK from talkign to teammates and throwing around this idea many people have seemed to like this idea, so i thought id get your opinion. here goes:

As we all know the title is called Guildwars. But during a guild fight, its only an 8vs8 fight, meaning its nothing more than a minor battle, not a war. Many builds out there make 8vs8 fun, but hardly make it seem like a war.

What would be your take to raise or even eliminate the 8 player cap in the gvg fights and make it a true guild vs guild WAR. and all out brawl between whatever members are on in the attacking guild, and whatever members are on in the defending guild. This way when you say I beat the top guild, you TRULY beat the whole top guild, not just a small faction of it. It would improve guild activities, make it much more challenging, and thus would invite more people into the gvg and pvp expierence.

I suppose it all depends on the number of guild members online.

Alot of guilds might only scrape together enough for 8v8 and if guilds do participate in "whole guild" battles, there would be less in 8v8 and make finding an appropriate enemy more difficult.

It's a great idea i agree but it would need to have serious considerations about the balance and available players.
It could be something to consider when GW gets a release in other regions of the far east so more players could fill any potential holes.

Those are what i call "orgys", way too messy, and no strategy.

If you've payed attention to the story line (Which i see you haven't), the "guild wars" so to speak, have already happened, and slowly play out through the story line. The gvg battles, are just pvp. End of story. They wanted to make the game strategy based, and they've done it.

I've heard rumors that they might have some 10 vs 10, but nobody's sure about that either. You know just as well as me, that word of mouth can mean absolutely nothing, except for someone's false hopes.

Sorry, but i disagree completely.

(Not to mention something like this was suggested not too long ago, search function is a must here.)

Great idea, there would have to be a cap somewhere of course..

Maybe options of say.. 15 vs 15 and still 8 vs 8?.. and ofc you'd have to have these amounts in full.

Faction would maybe have to be reduced a lil.. maybe not.

1. guild with more people will have advantage
2. Too many people may reduce the strategic element

Having said that, it is still possible to have a War that satisify the above problems.

1. Each side should have the same numbers of players. For example if a guild have 30 players and the other have 20 players. The maxium players in each side should be no more than 20.

2. Each side contains mutiple squads. Each squads only have 8 players max. Players within each squad can only see their squad members in the party list. Players are expected coorperative within their squads to achive small tasks, and the squads work together to achieve a higher-level objective. For example it would play out like a 8+8+8 vs 8+8+8

For example one squad may be assulting, the other squad may be operating artilery, running and playing ninja. Where the other squard is defending their base and provides support to their front-tier squads.

A perfect solution would be a allied guild GvG. For example in each side 3 guilds are allied together so it would be 24 vs 24 with 6 teams

Then Arena.Net has to balance the whole game again. And you probably don't see any strategy anymore. Then it's just about who can bash the best.
