is there any way to get the camera to automatically point towards who is attacking you.. so that if someone comes up behind you .. you don't waste time trying to turn the camera around?

no but one option is to go to your options and click the box with double tap forward to auto run adn double tap backwards to turn around. That will allow you to turn around (camera turns with you) much quicker.
