The Biggest Jerk You Ever Encountered in GW (no posting names)

One time, I was running someone to Beetletun with my War/Monk for tips. So he agrees and I run him there. When we get there, he just leaves. Typical. I wisper him "No tip?" He replies "Heres a tip, ask for a certain amount of gold next time, n00b".

What a jerk.

Ive got an interesting one and since its been a LONG day and its like 4 in the morning here we go..
i hate ppl that simpily call u noobs, everybody at some point in time didnt know how to do something and had to be taught(weather friend, group help, or hopefully not experiance..) i remember the first time i did oro, my friend told me what skills to bring but u really dont know til u do it.. so i did it and it was the best group ive even been in for sf, the SS with all the xp in the world said i did a great job and he'd love to do another run..
there was a time when i didnt know how to do fow, and once again had to be taught, but by this time i knew about gwwikis and guru... i hav 2 guild monks help me and start to get a party together, and of course we get some ppl and im leader and hav NO idea what im doing.. so after a minute weve got 2 spots open and i ask pug what i should get cuz ive got no idea? so heres what i hear..

and i see we've got enough casters and its time for some big boys, so i ask ranger or warrior? followed closly by

i still fell bad about that type of shit to this day and some time ago i remember this incedent..
sf with my monk buddy and SS, we needed a warrior and healer to go and after my buddy announced it at least 50 million ppl wanted in but i got a wisp for a guy saying he had 15k armor and he wanted in, so of course i relay this to PL and he lets noob with droks in and.... we dont even get past 3rd mob and i lose it, screaming and callin gthem noobs and this pretty much ends up being a huge fight that forces me and SS not to talk for like a week and i know him in RL... im not the jerk who spams or does jackass stuff that offends ppl, im the jerk who hates noobs im the guy that cant stand ppl for being idiots yet i want the help when i dont knwo something either.. i try not to ruin the game for other ppl but i do sometimes, and i apologize to everybody that ive offended, but seriously? u dont know y ppl might be jackasses that one time u try to do a mission or farm with them, sure maybe their RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOsmokes all the time but how do u know if their gf just broke up with them that day? got picked on becuz theyre a "mole" any of the other crap that could possibly happen, ya sure u dont hav to care and i see no reason y u should becuz i dont ither, i just thought id bring it up.. and to everybody who expects an MMO to hav friendly helpful mature ppl as its majority of players, idk what kind of drugs ur on but id love for u to share so we can all live in ur little world

So this jerk is completely un-related to GW... I was sitting here reading this forum at 3 am (yeah I know you don't need to tell me, get a life, or possibly some sleep). Anyways all of a sudden I hear this running down the hall outside my room. Then I hear this "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnttttt" noise, followed by the door to the stairs being thrown open, and footsteps running down the stairs. Which in turn was followed by the rest of the loud piercing shrills that our fire alarm makes. Kudos to the jerk off that thinks its funny to get drunk and wake people up at 3 am. Sorry it just happened, and I am reading THIS forum.

Ruins of Surmia mission, I get invited by a Lv20 Necro. Appears I'm the last guy they need, the team is the Necro, a 20 Whammo, me, and some other guy. Whammo is jerk in question btw.

So we proceed normally, with the typical army of fiends/minions tagging along. Naturally, everything dies quite quickly, and I don't really do much. We reach the bonus NPC, and bonus is activated. I've already finished bonus before (but not the mission), and since it's understandable that the 20s played only for the bonus, I decided to follow along. The leader said that if bonus went smooth, he would help finish the mission.

Now, if anyone forgot the bonus for this level, you basically have to follow some ember bearers, taking care to NOT aggro them until they bring you to the bonus area where you kill. Now, the moment bonus activates, and the ember bearers appear, the 20 whammo runs up to them and kills them all.

Necro: ...
Me: lawl
Other guy: ...
Necro: Idiots. <Quits>

That leaves about 20 hostile, high-level bone buddies by the way.

Whammo: Are we doin bonus or not?

Meh.. this might make me the bad guy.. but I have had sooo many bad situations with jerks, pugs/trades/just hanging out in town.. for a few of them I just ask my guildies for help. Nothing better then getting 20+ pms that forces you to go offline/do not disturb.

my buddy's best friend was helpin him out in switching iteams to his other account.. my buddy gives him the stuff "wich was 750 ecto [almost everything he had at the time]" next thing he knows his BEST FRIEND put him on ignore and logged out.

Talk about a best friend. Well I prefer trust my friends wich I know and who live near of my home than a "Friend" that you know only in a game. If that "Friend" is known only online, he had lost what he gave it to him/her.

I actually tend to trust online people as much as RL people. I guess I just find the trustworthy ones, most of the time. (;

On topic - not the biggest jerk, but someone in my FoW group yesterday didn't have a key for a rare chest, so I dropped one for him, and another guy picked it up [who had at least 2, since 2 dropped for him from monsters]. I asked him politely to please drop the key, and he replies with "lolz well dat was dumb of u". Needless to say, I wasn't very impressed. His monking wasn't very good, either. >.>

Power to the monks imo. If someone starts been a total red engine you just don't heal them and see how long it takes em to shut up (or leave whichever suits me more)
Works great for those supertanks who tell you not to heal them at the start then 20 seconds in are calling for aid.

Biggest jerk i've found was a B/P ranger in FoW while i was on my monk. He formed the group in the normal fashion. Then after an unlucky spawn from the group to the right which walked into us (we killed em without deaths though) he started to call us noobs. Few more groups and we were obviously not working together all that well atm so he started whining more.

Bit later we killed a few groups then accidently agroed the 4 monks and both patrols round them too (pretty stupid i know). Started insulting us all and left after a couple of minutes. We all held on and eventually ressed, then cleared the rest of the area, the skeletons and the forest flawlessly before the usual PUG leaving took place.

Anyway after calling him a leaver in Whisper he started going on about how awesome he was. Started going on about how B/P teams shouldn't have a trapper in them (this trapper was actually a ranger who brought along Dust Trap to protect casters) so tried to tell me i was now the laughing stock of his guild and ToA for suggesting it. Later on he started going on about how he was rank 5 and his guild was highly ranked (elitist twat) making him great at PvE. Going on about how his guild clears FoW and UW 4 times a day (lmao).

After a long time of him calling me a noob and other random insults while i slowly got more and more patronising towards him he eventually stopped replying. I think it was the comment about how his toys fell out his pram that did it.

Its either him or the guy who i ran from War Camp to Granite Citidel. Was gonna ask him to pay me at the portal. Messed up the first time and gave it another go. Got to the portal, asked him to pay and he refused, so before i could go back into the portal the damn patrol from BEHIND the portal blasted me in the head with Mind Freeze, which is sorta instant death when your a 55monk with 15dp (less health more energy). So he died, ran into Citidel and logged off after i spent the best part of 20minutes helping him.

So I learned, but it shouldn't be necessary. It was still a dickish move. :/

I had my first jerk experience a while back and i was just really shocked by it.

I hired a duel running team for one of the desert missions (don't even remember which one now) and they picked up a few other people as well. I don't normally use runners because i like to do the missions for myself, but i was feeling lazy lol. Well the runners were great and did the job with ease. When it came time to pay up i dished out the money happily, feeling it was worth it, but every other person that was being run, went afk. No responses, nothing. We waited for a while but still nothing. Since i had paid they went ahead and completed the mission though i told them i understood if they wanted to drop.

I just don't understand that kind of freeloading. The runners were quick and good. I ended up tipping them each an ecto lol they deserved it.

Alright, these are not so much jerks as idiots. I was doing Ice Caves mission (advertised as just mission) with a PUG cause it was early morning and not many guildies were on. So I pull a quick group together (grabed a lvl 16 cause i was feeling nice) and we start out mission. We are doing pretty good, ppl following directions for the most part and we get to the end of fighting part. ill admit, i forgot one thing and almost got a few ppl killed (although it wouldnt have mattered; i healed em pretty quick ) and then i remind everyone not to talk to guy for bonus, x him out on map tell them where to stop, gave them plenty of warning, and a few guys went to talk to him anyway. this made me a little mad, but one guy said he was already infused, just helping a guildy out, so it wouldnt be too bad. well, seeing as i was the only one that remebered how to do the mission, i led and it worked for a little bit. then a few ppl decided, once again, to ignore my wise council and go a different route at a split trail, where they proceded to aggro the mursaat and die while the infused guy and other smart ppl looked on. only too late did we realise that the npc required to finish the mission had followed the idiots... it really wouldnt have made me so mad that we didnt finish it, but that left not much time to do anything else that morning (places to go) and if they had listened to me we would have been fine *takes breath* theres my little rant, enjoy

Seriously this makes me laugh everytime.

My first character in the game was a W/E. I was really excited about fighting with an axe and casting firestorm at the same time. <<so noobish>>
At around level 13 I realized my error. Around 800 hrs later I had 3 completed characters and started really farming full time. The W/R had been my mule that whole time but was still not at droks. I was tired of having to move the stuff I wanted to sell from that character to my others so I could sell it in droks. Then I got the great idea of creating a new N/Mo and keeping him lvl 1 and running him to droks. His name is Kurt the Somber, he lives in droks, and he's a level 1.

The funny part is what happens everyday without fail. I am selling greens and someone askes to see them. They invite me and I open my trade window placing the items i have for sale in it. The person says nm and closes the window. Then 3 seconds later he/she comments about how I am only a level 1 and what a noob I am. I should be at least a lvl 20 to be in droks. I then say that its my mule, and without fail they say "Stfu Noob!"

Tells the other 2 players a rank 10 and a rank 5: Stream of cusswords, you ebayed your acc, I regret ever introducing you guys to the guild etc.....

Next Day (I already kicked him):

Tells me: I know you kicked me b/c im richer then you (ROFL?)

Tells the others: spam insults/cussing for a few hours. More random comments about how the other 2 iway/ebayed their fame or something.

God, some people make me so angry!
I got into a b/p team in tombs, and I got into Ts. After I was in 1 minute someone told me to stop it, or he'll kick me. I didn't know what he meant, since I wasn't doing anything, and I told him so, and he kicked me from TS. I asked them in Teamchat what they're problem was, and he just said "RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO off". Someone else them told me "your micro and boxes". Then I was kicked from the team. It seems my micro was too sensitv and they got an echo. But instead of just telling me, so that I could set the voiceactivation higher, they just kicked me, as if I did it on purpose.

Well...I would've done the same thing Kitty....

Why? Can't they just tell me, I could have just adjusted it. And I DO have a headset, not boxes.

People who echo to much in TS, also seem to repond very slow to warnings. That means that any form of communications goes down for several minutes.
Consider this a lesson, and make sure that it won't happen again. The moderators in TS have a very short fuse, and you were probably completely messing up the whole chat. Every moderator would have kicked you. Don't take it personal.

Well, I just don't unterstand it. If I couldn't have changed it, fine, but I would have toned down the Volume, and set the activation higher, and the echo would have been gone. They just had to tell me, cause I didn't notice it.
I was in TS the other day, and everything seemd to be fine, different Ts-Server seem to have other settings.

The average newbie, who joins a TS, has no clue. Their conversation goes like this:

got my first jerk story for you just yesterday...
i had just recently bought my first two parts of the 15k armor. with nothing really to do i decided i could go and get the new armor parts infused. i got to moladune and looked for a group that was either doing the mission or was just on a infusing run. after a few minutes a group had formed, we also took two ranger with us who wanted to cap barrage shot. of we go, everything goes smooth and somone of the party reaches the seer. after killing a few of the mobs all of the sudden one member of the party is just gone. we concluded he might have had an erorr007 since there was no hint before that this guy (further named as jerk) would have a reason to leave. we finished infusing and at least one ranger got the skill, (the other was to slow).
so after completing the mission you find yourslf in thunderhead keep. i saw that i havent previously done the bonus for that mission so i searched for a group. i sepcifficaly searched for a grop doing the mission with the bonus. i get an invite of a group, and see that the jerk form before is in the group. still asuming he just had an disconnect i dont confront him about leaving the group. so before the mission starts i say again over the team channel that i want to do the bonus too and nobody objects. now i have to say that i dont know the bonus for that mission, so when we were in the fort to defend the king i asked where the bonus for the mission is. someone of the group told me what has to be done. after we stopped a few of the first attackers i wanderd around looking for the torch to light the signals without finding it, then, all of the sudden jerk screams at me to come back up to help defend the king. i pm him too keep cool and that im looking for the bonus thing, which gets him furious and he shouts at me, that we are just doing the mission and he dosent want to have to do it again because of a noob like me. i politely told him that i just agreed to go with the group because i wanted to to do the bonus and nobody said something aginst it.he replied by telling me if i didnt like just doing just the mssion i could just leave. because i was anoyed by the style of his messages i asked him why he left the group in the moladune mission before. he answered, that he never before has left a group and that this was his first mission today and im talking bullshit. after throwing some rather unpleasant insults at me, he put me on ignore. while this conservation took place over pm someone else apperently must have lightend the signals beacause we get overrun by a horde of muursat a bit later. as it becomes obvious that we will get defeated, jerk uses the the team chat to accuse me of messing up the mission and being an noob and whatever. and then of course he leaves...

we get taken back to the city and two other players leave. i explaine to the rest of the group what has just happend, and we agree to go for it again. because i was feeling a little bad for the other guys i even agree to just do the mission, we pick up a few other players and complete the mission without a problem.

its really strange what kind of people you can meet in games like this. but i should have been warned about that jerk, because his name was f*** you, just written a little differently so that it wouldnt get censored. *sigh*

Here is a story about a guy who was a jerk only to himself.

My friends and I like to go to FOW or UW with balanced parties. So one day we were gathering a group together and needed a few more, including a couple of monks. For some odd reason, at least 3 of us, maybe 4, can't remember, were playing rangers.

So a monk joins our group and sees we have a lot of rangers in the group, as well as a necro, and assumes we are a b/p party. But we weren't. I was going with my favorite FOW build with 3 traps, throw dirt and oath shot, while the other rangers were going with various builds, some with barrage as elite. This monk then asks if we are b/p and I said no, I was a trapper. So then this monk, without asking further, assumed that all the rangers in the group were trappers, told us we were stupid to go to FOW as a trapper group, that it couldn't be done, that trappers belonged in UW, and then left the group.

Now, this monk missed an excellant opportunity to visit FOW with a really good and together party. We have done FOW countless times already, breezing through the various quests, without resorting to book tricks, and usually with few or no problems. Instead, this monk assumed we were hopeless losers attempting to do something he thought would be impossible to do.

I couldn't just let it go at that, so I whispered him that he was making a big mistake, that we have done FOW as a group many times before. Uh-uh, he insisted that we were stupid, that we were lying to him, that we were going to get killed in no time in FOW. I could only respond "but why would we lie?".

Well, we got another monk and had a great time with lots of shard drops!

Hmm, your post is a bit old now, so I don't know if you will see this reply, but you shouldn't get discouraged by the not so nice players out there. Find some friends, join a nice guild, and the game will be much different for you.

By the way, is it possible to communicate with each other during a movie sequence? Sounds like this jerk was telling you off during the cut scene, but I didn't know that could be done.

The only time you need to skip a movie is if your groups being attacked and totally over powered. A mission in the desert has an easily run first part but you need to skip the movie or you pretty much all die.

I was in a pre>Post-searing party the other day and I was the only one that pressed ot skip the movie, but id forgotten it and had a good time watching it, so dont let jerks like that put you down.

Don't forget Minions. Through most cutscenes you are not in a position that you are being attacked, but it ocassionally happens. I don't mind the cutscenes and don't ask people to skip them unless there is a minion master present with live minions.

No doubt, especially during Orozar farming. I told them to skip the cutscene. Not because my minions would die (of which there were too many to count), but because they would die because I vowed to ragequit and the minions would have wiped them out.

I'm not sure if it even works (minions going hostile during cutscene), but it scared the noobs into skipping the scene. Too bad they dropped the bridge and we all died anyways.

If you advertise yourself as running for tips, that means you get no say at all as to whether you get paid.

• There should be a formal recognition of sorts for people that manage to mutilate the English language in so brutal a fashion.

• There should be a Nobel Prize for exemplary contributions to the fields of Logic and Reasoning, such as one that the quoted post has accomplished.

• There should be separate districts in the game for legendary individuals that have made names for themselves by virtue of their contributions in the above two, and other similar categories. It will make the virtual world a much less stressful place for the commonfolk that may not be as well endowed in intelligence and ability.

LOCATION: RANDOM ARENA DURING THE BATTLE AND AFTER

SITUATION OF THE JERK: False hack caller, report to Anet for nothing to prove it and broken grammar.


STORY:

Random Arena....... A place to make fun in the arena against other players where they do some crazy build which you can laugh when it doesn't work well or dead cry when it hurts. I wanted to test a ranger build (Which I call it CasterHate for some reasons....maybe only 2-3 skills you'll see ). In my team, we were: 2 Rangers (Me and Poison), 1 Necro (Blood) and 1 Ele(Earth). The other team was: 2 Warriors (W/Mo and W/R), 1 Mesmer (E-Denial) and 1 Ele (Lightning and JERK). The arena was the kryta beach. The battle start, we stayed in group and we say the warriors plit (to make a pincer in the corner). Our Earth Ele saw the trick (same for me) and ask to us to stay in group. This is the converstion/action we did (To make faster):

Earth: I rid those warriors myself
Me: The necro will stay for your help
Necro: This is what I thought :P
Ranger: Im using Apply poison
Ranger: Im using penetrating shot on mesmer
Me: Im using Melandru Arrow
2-3 seconds later mesmer died by poison and bleeding

Flawless Victory

The second battle was cool, a good 6 minutes of battle. I was really a good game. Third was stupid, We log, 2 of the other team left letting a ranger and a ele alone against us (Feel pity for them). Fourth Battle, to fast for nothing. Its was like 25 sec and we had finished.

The last one........... We got 1 monk, 2 warriors and 1 Ele. The Ele was the same before.

We used the same tactics to fight against the warriors (always work like a charm) and me with the ranger we shoot down the monk. I switch the target to see what going on and I saw Chain Lightning. Concussion + Debilitating shot. Ouch!!!... Dazed, Bleeding because of Melandru Arrow and he was under an enchantment too so lot damage and -10 Energy. The monk died short after by overdose of poison and bleeding and again, The necro and the Earth Ele killed these warriors. Air begins to use rez sig (Again). Same old Interrupt trick and Left again with:

Air: YOU NOOB, YOU DONT KNOW HOW PLAY GW, FAGGOT 15k DRUID BITCH SLUTTY MOMMA RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOER. (I was with my PvE Female Ranger so I didn't want to create another char for PvP).

Me: Watch out what do you say mister.

Victory Party!!!!!

Few minutes later, I talked with the group which I was to share our builds and the tactics we did. I got a whisp... from that Jerk

Didn't think I'd have to post in here again. This one happened in Abadons Mouth Mission, myself and two guildies got a pug with 4 people from another guild and one other. Anyway the bits underlined in red were what made me classify this guy as a jerk, and that he had the nerve to try it again after acting clueless.




Nothing in comparision to some of the other stories on here, but it sure pissed me off none the less, enough to make the 3 of us ragequit.

When you advertise "runs for tips", you can´t expect that everyone tips you since you gave them a choice, either they tip you or they don´t.

But I must say that the way he responded you qualifies him as a jerk.

In my opinion anyone who uses the term n00b is a jerk. That word is with no doubt the word in GW I HATE THE MOST

Oh I know a jerk alright....may not be as mean or as bad as others, but he still t'd me off pretty bad.
