Ob. comm. is : they may not be the biggest jerks I've come across, but there's a tied second between all those gay-bashing anything that does not conform to their somewhat limited expectations. There used to be a time gay was a choice, not an insult.

That prson above is definately not me, but reminds me of one of my early visits to FoW.

The group had only one healer, me ...(I don't know why we had only one healer, and at that time I was still noob enough not to care)... and after some fighting down there I noticed the rest of the team were using TS, which I don't use and no-one had even told me they were using it. Instead they were quiet... very quiet... until few of them died and they started using their keyboard for communicating, giving me "precise instructions to do as I was told and not to do as I did". . . and before that no-one had said a word on Local- or Team-channel, except me.
I had been trying my best to follow their actions, but just couldn't keep up with the healing and finally it got to the point where they just started flaming for my poor efforts on healing the team. That's when I left after letting them know that if you're using TS/Vent, it'd be nice to make sure everybody's using it or at least give orders so that those who don't use TS/Vent can get them too.

Ok, leaving's a jerky thing to do, but I got so furious there that I wouldn't have healed them anymore anyway.

was back in the beginning of guildwars i made some serious cash america-europe trading so bought a character full of sigils who where 70k back then.

so with all kindness i did go to ascalon, was looking for brandnew guilds recruiting joined them and gave them a free hall.

after joining a certain guild with around 20players one second after the guild leader has gotten the hall he kicked every one out of his guild and was posting WTS guild blablabla with hall only 50k ....

not that id care alot but thats jerking around.

I was doing runs from House zu Heltzer to Lutgardis Conservatory for 1k. Most people were very happy and impressed with the speed. I had already had one scammer though, who refused to pay until I whispered him many times. Then, came a monk who left the party as soon as we got to the Conservatory and ran to an NPC. One of the other party members said "He's getting away!" So I ran to him with my trade button and said "You forgot to pay." He just said "I know" many times and then "I will pay." Obviously he wouldn't since he rejected my trade so many times, so I said "No, you won't" and he says "Ok, I won't." He then started to run around spamming "LFG FOR MISSION", when there wasn't even a mission there. I and someone else from the party kept telling him to trade, but he didn't. I eventually had to go AFK, so I stopped. As I came back, I whispered him and told him to pay. He said "I did." I told him to send me a screenshot of "You traded Chris Lee 1 platinum." He then ignored me and said "I paid you 500g because you died once, so STFU. I'm not the scammer; you are." I had died once because I was chatting, but he hadn't even given me 500g.

Once I was using my monk in Irons mines to infuse my new armor on a infusion run everyone got infused. 3 players and me stayed to see how well or bad we would do against markus. We only had my monk a ele a ranger and a necro. Fine i was bored. Of course we died and did not kill Markus.

Well the necro called me the XXX worst monk player they have ever seen. I tried explaining that it is difficult to beat the mission with the set up we had left but he just flamed me more.

The biggest jerk io ever saw in guild wars said he would help me transfer 250 ectos from one of my accounts to my other one. So I traded him 250 ecto and he didnt give them back to my other account! Then he said he would do it fopr 300k and he would give them to me on the lkast set of 100k! Then when i finished trading him the 200k he ignored me! What a jerkface!

Why did you trust that person with that much money? And did you report him/her?

Admittedly not the most awful of jerks, but still annoying at the time.

A long while ago, we had a guild group going into UW. We also had a few randoms. We did the first area happily enough, then went on to the second group of terrorwebs. When we came back (To do lost souls and the like, having warned the randoms not to take Unwanted Guests yet), we suddenly noticed a large amount of red appearing on the map. Yup. Unwanted Guests. Easy enough if you've "activated" other Reapers, but with only two, it's... awkward. As it happened, I was facing the Reaper when the red dots appeared and saw exactly who it was who had taken it. When we asked who it was, he protested very strongly. We were able to do it by racing past the Aatxes and were just about able to destroy the beasties. Once we were all resed, the jerk who'd taken the quest said "well, that was easy, I think you should all thank me".

When he died, he didn't get resed and I, as the group ele, performed the ultimate insult.

Yes. I did the male ele dance over his corpse.

When ever we hear about a friend being scammed, we pm the scammer and say....We have screen shots of this, is losing your account really worth the 1k? They always pay because they are usually little kids trying to get away with something. It's very easy to scare them in to paying.

Anyways, new jerk story:

I was doing the second mission in Cantha (the one with the Miasmas, I cannot remember how to spell it) with my level 20 warrior to ge the "Mastery" rank needed to become Protector of Cantha. Since the area is usually for level 15 or so, I believe about half the district invited me to their party in the first minute (slow time of the day I guess) and I quickly got a group together.

The group had, among other things, an Assassin who turned out to be of the tanking idiot variety and a rather impatient Monk.

Now, I was playing on my laptop, so I took a few seconds to load (a few files, took 10 seconds tops). When I get in there, the Assassin is already dead. The monk is bitching at the Assassin for being a moron. The Assassin (and everyone's heard this one before) is going "rez me rez me stupid monk". I PM the Monk and tell her to just leave the idiot dead if he's unable to stay alive long, since with a lvl 20 we should have no problems anyways.

The Monk ignores me and rezes the Assassin anyways. The Assassin blindly charges into the next mob and starts spaming his health etc. with the Monk doing what must have been a valiant effort to keep him alive. He dies anyways, of course. The Monk throws a fit, yells "WHY THE HELL DO PPL MAKE THIS MISSION SO DIFFICULT" and ragequits.

We leave the Assassin dead and finish the mission easily without the Monk with a Mastery rank.

I feel your pain, this happens to me just about every time I quest in the UW with unknowns in the group. It's worth pointing out that just because someone is standing at the reaper at the time, it doesn't automatically mean they are the one who took the quest. It's possible to talk to the reaper and then walk away with his window still open and then take the quest when someone else is standing there taking the reward for clear chamber, I know because someone pulled this on me and the whole group accused me of taking the quests and griefing

I hate.... Ass-Tank (this is how I call them now). I got another one this morning at Arborstone missions (Finish first try with Master Rewards and its my first time I got too).


I was with my Sin and my friend with her Ele to do Arborstone (Known as Anti-Casters mission). I started a group. At the end, we got 2 Warriors, 2 Assassins (including me), 1 Ele (my friend), 2 Monks and 1 Dom mesmer with Signet of Midnight (You will know why). Before entering the mission we decided to take the path to the middle (Warden mobs and only 2 mobs of Onis).

First part was perfect. At the second parts (Cathedral begin to collapse), the Ass-tank start to charge to the Stone monsters... eventually die shortly. We rez him and Death to another monsters. Again, die. He started to shout the monks are noobs to not to heal him. I PM them not to ragequits if they feel offended. Of course, they ignore the insults the Asstank said. At the mobs of Onis, he did Death Charge again and make the other mobs of Oni appears (8 Onis lvl 28 to fight now). I said to stop Shadow stepping to him but he replied ShS is cool than running like I did (I had Shadow of Haste for Get in/Get out). We try to make almost every Oni adj each other to do SoM and Epidemic after. It worked well, except 2 oni which they fight the Asstank. I rushed to him, did Palm Strike (yes my Elite) and Blinding Powder on one, Caltrop to the other and get out.

I shouted "GET OUT OF HERE ASSTANK (Censored the name)".
He replied: F*** you, I can do alone

10 sec later, Blinding powder lost its effect....... 2 sec later, the Asstank die for a third time. We finished the 2 mobs with only 2 players died (Asstank and my friend). We asked why he didn't listen when we say to get out. The only thing he said is: "I'm better tanking than anybody else here". Yeah sure, he died 5 times in total during the mission (the last 2 others is against the Stone Judge before using SoM against him and kill the other mobs) and quit just before Danika open the gates (approx. 1 sec of waiting and finish the mission)

Yeah sure he though he can "tank", but that doesn't mean you can hold longer with a Sins as a tanker. Let the Warrior doing their job as a tank and do your Sins job by killing quick and deadly to support them.

In other words, know your role with your profession and not doing what the others do for the team.

Hmm. A fair point. Doesn't matter now. I don't go in groups with randoms anymore. Guildies and henchies ftw.

In that situation from before, he'd been a bit of a jackass before that point and asked us to thank him for taking the quest after we finished it, so I'm sure I was right that time.

And Francis, do the mission with henchies. I tried and failed that mission several times with PUGs. First time I tried it with henchies, I got the Master reward. That is the last time I'm ever going to use randoms, save for helping groups do the Fort Ranik mission or something like that. :P

This incident occured after a failed mission attempt of which I left the party because of this rushing mesmer who continued to harass my monk as follows:



It makes me very sad when I see mesmers that behave like this

I would like to add however that it also means +1 to the PvE Mesmers population, which has to be at least a 50% population increase. Looks like at long last there is an incompetent jackass of that class too.

Seriously, I have never seen a bad PvE Mesmer before. They're rare, but the people using them are usually the more experienced ones working on new characters.

Probably not the biggest jerk but:

In Sardelac Me and a few random people were just having fun and being nice to new players.(Ie. answering questions, helping with quests,etc.) Someone starts spamming "WTS hammers, offer". So me and reandom people star giving joke offers. One says 100000000000000000000000000000000000000k+ectos, one says 1g, I say 0.5g. Stupid? Yes. That was the point. Random person pms me and converstion goes as follows:

Jerk:Stupid N00000000b! Immpossible to give 0.5g U R T0t41 g4y!!!!!!!
Me: Wow, it was a joke, calm down.
Jerk: Fagggggggg, I'm reporting you!
Me: Fine.
Me:/ignore.

Jerks? I can name a few times I ran into some.

1.) Monk that whining about why Battery Necro keeps losing health and start boosting about how they dont need the Energy regen. Then starts complain when he doesnt have enough energy and rage quits.

2.)The Deep. Monks quitting as soon as they see my A/R, believing that you can't do the Deep with an Assassin in your group. Then go around telling people not to join our group cuz we have an assassin. Just because I'm an "Assassin" doesnt mean I'm an Assassin. Ever heard of Critcial Barragers? Each time the my Assassin shoots her barrage it causes bleeding and I get energy and health in return. Me, 1 Warrior and a Monk can Clear room 4 easily. UGH I hate how they dont even ask what my build is... N00b Monks.

3.)Capping SOJ. Everyone knows the first group of summit dwarves can be avoided by moving around. The leader monk doesnt believe that so he aggros the dwarves and order us to attack. Killing us all and forcing us to rezone. 2nd try I tell him we can avoid them if we stay to the left and wait till the group moves. He doesnt believe me so he sits and watches. Me and the rest of the group make it passed the first group. Then he start saying how that was a lucky spawn and rezones then bets that I cant do it again. We go back in and I do it again. He rezones gets angry and boots me. I dont care and grab a bunch of henchies and get my SoJ by myself without dying.

I'll post my screen of it when I find it. Oh ya I 55ed the capping part too.

ok ok i got one for ya,i was playing a sword ranger in RA.i get into a team on the map where u res and win by getting most points,it becomes like 4-4,2 of our side drop out,then i killed this mesmer''jerk'' which makes it 5-4,then the other guy drops making me only guy left.so since im melee,i brought a speed boost,so decide to kite rest of the seconds away to win.......yah like im gonna die when i know i can win.

I was in LA when I saw a guy with nice dyed 15k Ele armor. Since I also had that armor I wondered what color he dyed it, so I PM him and ask him politely:

9/10 times, people who behave like this are either 10 years old, trying to feel big, or skinnly little nerds trying to feel big no offense to any skinny nerds though First of all, it's a ----ing video game, people who argue about the skills involved in hitting some keys on a keyboard really need to get a life. I'm sure if they had any skills at all, they wouldn't have spent so much time on a video game becoming "leet" Seriously, not trying to sound like a psychologist, but peope who do things like this tend to have "low self-esteem", meaning that they suck at life. I had a friend who rage quit guildwars because she couldn't speak english well, and she joined a guild and got cussed out by some wammo for not monking well enough. EDIT: ShazBo - Gaile isn't the only Anet employee that gets on the game (Mr. Cartwright [i spell that right?] has made more than one appearance, He works on Skill Balancing I think he said)....and I wouldn't call her an "admin" she doesnt have like GM rights in the game, she has to play like anyone else (except gets the purple text). She is just in Community Relations.

Gaile can teleport anywhere she wants without unlocking it normally, but other than that and the purple text, she indeed does play like everyone else.

Example of idiot:

We were doing the hell's precipice mission, and all seemed well to me. We had a perfect team of (all human :O) 2 monks, 2 tanks(1 was me), nuker, SS, etc. and we were pretty sure we were gonna win. Then the other tank goes ahead and caps one of the war elites (I think cleave? I dunno something like that) and says "bye n00bs", and leaves. So we were stuck in the hardest mission in prophecies with only 1 tank and a monk who had decided to go smiter (not his fault, I never asked if he was healer, but I just assumed he was.) We ended up beating it but what kind of a jerk does that? Seems I run into a lot of em.

Example of nice person:

When I just got factions and started with my tyrian MM I saw flesh golems I really wanted that skill. So I worked my way to Senji's corner, and learned the golem cap was exactly opposite the direction of the primary quest. So, I decided to pay 1k to each person who would join my party for it (because obviously no one would go with me unless they were necros themselves. 8 necros a balanced party doesn't make >.>) I only got 1 guy (necro) and we henchied the rest, barely making the cap. He then declined my offer and offered to pay me 1k. I of course declined too but this showed how nice some people can be.

I met a really annoying person today..

Was looking for a group in the Etnaran Keys (Alliance battle). I get invited and the Leader enters the mission. Without asking if everyone was ready.

Person 1: I have skills
Me: Then why did we go if you didn't had skills?
Me: Couldnt the leader have asked if we were ready before he went?
Jerk: You know, go outside and play and RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO yourself.

Later he even started whining that I was wearing Kurzick armor but playing for the Luxons. But yeah that happens when you temporarily joined a guild that is Luxon because you are trying to get some money together for a Guildhall.

I was once in RA and I was playing on a Me/N, and some dude on my team prompty told me that I should be a Fragilty mesmer. I said "Hey dude, I'm just trying this build out" (I was using some degen stuff for fun). And he promply stated in local "omg mesmer is noob", leaves the game, and proceeds to PM me telling me that I'm stupid, that I like men, etc etc. It was quite the kicker, I had a laugh. I think I still have a screen somewhere :P

After 7 months, it finally happened.
Got scammed out of an Ungues using the old plat/gold switcheroo. My fault for not paying attention.
Got another one later after 10 minutes anyway.
