No, EU favor has been about the same as the last month. It held favor for longer yesterday due to a bug that stopped people getting into tombs. So i've not counted that duration in my stats BTW
Ecto drops are well down according to people who regually go there to ecto farm(trappers and solos etc). Combined with a satuated economy causing the rich players not selling ecto to traders to buy high end items then it's not surprising the price has risen.
The green economy is in decline, as is the items market. Low end/margin goods are still ok as they dont need ecto to underpin them. Usually a spike in inflation is always the sign of a recession on the way...

All I know is, my plans for FoW armor are shot for the immediate future...I'm not shelling out over 3 mil for it.

The probably only reason for the skyrocketing ectoprices was the recent nerfhammer against the UW Farming. That stopped the slow flow of ecto down to a degree that everyone who gets an ecto simply keeps it for himself thus skyrocketing the prices even more.

I and my team of helpers record favor stats nearly 20 hours a day. trust me. the percentages over the last 7 days have'nt been that much different from the previous month. If you want to help the effort in actually showing the figures rather than peoples perception then just let me know.
The day in question EU held it 3 times (11th) , for a total duration of 6 hours. However the next day EU only held it for 2(12th) and the day after that(13th) for 2 hours also.
Have a look at my favor stats threads, hopefully they make intresting reading.
P.S I have recorded the bug as 'no data' not pro EU,america or Korea, just as I would if US or Korea held it. To do anything else would nullify the point of me spending hours doing it.

As far as I know. it stopped people entering tombs, so therefore predjudiced/tainted the HoH battles. It would be unfair of me to count them. Just to say I would have done the same if it were Korea, America or as was the case Europe.

At least rubies aren't trading for 14K plus now. Ectos were 19 at trader awhile ago(2 months) I am sure they will come down as people sell off to him.
Although I sold a few this morning and he didn't drop. I couldn't sell many as I reachd 1000 plat again.
Guess I will have to start hoarding gems once more. Unless ectos drop to 100 gold again in an update then I will fill up on them.

it probably has to do something with the recent boom (reboom, really) of sweatshop workers doing doubletime? if you check ebay gold, it's currently about $60-something bucks for 1 mil, compared to last month's $80-something bucks (i think) for 1 mil.
also, let's not forget to add that thought with some of the vast green weapon farmers who sells at high amounts, and turning that around to buy ecto/shards within the last month.
i could be wrong, of coarse.
more people are just buying ecto/shards in a faster rate than usual i guess.

It does seem like the economy is slowly inching back to the pre-trader patch days. Monk runes are moving up, as are ecto and shards. I can see how reduced solo-monk farming has reduced the amount of ecto on the market, but why would shards go higher as well? They aren't farmed specifically like ecto, but plenty of grps still head down into the Fissure. Price jumps worry me... as I don't farm enough to keep up. :P

The price will drop in no time. It's very dificult to sell ectos now for 16k (which seems to be the avg price people are selling at), and hordes of players are selling to the trader for 14k... 4k more than what used to be for each ecto is a good deal.
This is a spike. Prices will eventually drop...it just went down to 18k again and onyl 2 hours have passed. I suggest NOT BUYING ectos now, so that people who have plenty of them will sell to the rare mat trader, thus lowering the price very fast.

People are like sheeps. Should start a GW farming cartel with some of my friends, but I'm soft-hearted, and I won't do it.
(Got 700k in 24 hours thanks to the idiotic ecto prices).
