Erm its one of those ASCII characters I think.
You can do it by pressing ALT + a combination of numbers on the numpad.
I tried it in GW before though and it doesn't work. I read before that it was cut and paste from and outside program (for example, MS Word).

interesting. thats definatley not on the keyboard. im not sure how you make that. but it sure is annoying sometimes.. actually, i just hate people that spam things they want to buy and sell everywhere BUT the trade channel. but thats another story. sorry i cant be of more help.

On a windows system open your character map utility. It will show you a complete (or nearly so) ascii chart for that font set. It has to be a fairly basic font set, but you can cut many of those symbols to the clipboard and then use the universal windows app command for paste 'ctrl-v' to put it in your chat window.
I see people with names like this sometimes (not a real name by the way): | IM SO L33T |
They like to hassle and harrass people because it's really hard to put them into the ignore list (with the little vertical bars) if you don't know how.

Easiest way to ignore names like that is to click them to open up wshp, copy their name, and paste into the ignore box.
As soon as I see people using crap like that to sell their junk, they go immeadiately on my ignore list. It's annoying and hard to read.
