Ascension Quest - how long to reach?

Sorry for the newbie question. I've looked all over and can’t find the answer. Anyway, I picked up the game today and after about 10 hours decided I don't care for my second profession (ranger) and want to switch to Necro/Elemental. How far into the game is the Ascension quest? Will it take me longer to restart my character, or to continue on until I can change my second profession? I have the feeling I'm probably going to be restarting, but I just wanted to check first... Thanks.

Would be easier to start a new character unless you have around 50K in which you can just be run everywhere.

Rai: if you actually play the game (ie NOT pay a runner to play it for you), then you're at least 50 hours from being able to change secondary, possibly twice that.
I'd suggest rolling a new character: 10 hours is nothing, you're probably still in pre-searing.
