Level 6 ELEMENTALIST vs MIRROR expert help.

I've searched these forums fruitlessly for a thread that gives help for ELEMENTALISTS for beating doppleganger. With my past several characters I actually leveled up normally and needless to say the tried-and-true tactics for beating him are really effective-- at level 20, and alas when I decide I want to rush a new character through the game, I have problems.

I found some threads for mesmers and necros but not elementalists. *pulls hair out* Please don't tell me to 'level up like everyone else.'

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Depends on what your secondary is.

But for a primary take all the fire AoE's you can get, wait until it
it casts one, and then move out of it and cast yours.

Repeat until ascention

well if you are able to change secondary to necro, you can bring all sacrifice skills and run up to him so he uses sword and then he will do little damage and kill himself.

oh sorry... my secondary profession is monk. ^^

Bring a lot of reserection spells like restore life and some AoEs.

Iron Mist is a nice skill to bring too. Just remember not to cast it yourself.

I'm not sure if this has been patched recently, but there used to be a great way to beat the doppelganger with monk skills. Load up your skillbar with four of those useless enchantments that give -1 regen. The doppleganger will cast all of them to start the battle and be rendered almost useless thereafter. Then it's just a matter of smiting him to death while healing his axe/bow damage.

I watched a vid of a fire ele beating the dopple in 2 skills (about a 13 sec fight).

His skill bar was full, having 2-3 long cast time and/or low dmg fire magics in the first half of the bar (so the dopple would cast some junk on him first, nothing that can stop him).

Rest of his bar was Firestorm, Metoer Shower, and healing spells just in case.

Fight starts, he presses tab to target and gets meteor shower casting. While he is casting that he gets hit with some spell, then he casts firestorm real quick, and moves to the side.

The doppleganger just sit their getting owned by Firestorm and Metoer Shower dmg and couldnt move cause of the knockdown by shower. He was dead in like 3 seconds after that (literally 70% of the fight time was casting meteor shower).

Here's how I did it with a pure fire ele...

Skillbar - meteor shower, fire storm, gale, glyph of concentration, (you might want something like searing heat to increase the damage) four other random skills.

At the start of battle, throw on glyph of concentration and hit him with meteor shower. Then cast firestorm. If he gets up, knock him back down with gale. Add in searing heat and you should be done.

Make sure you can get your main spells off before the mirror does. You might wanna bring along a couple enchantments in your skillbar (aura of restoration, attunements, etc) so that the mirror is busy casting those while you get Meteor Shower and Firestorm off.

When I did it, she didn't even make an effort to get out of the AoE stuff, & got knocked down enough times that it wouldn't have mattered if she'd tried.

You probably won't even be level 20 when u kill ur dopple... you'll be like level 18-19 maybe.

On one of my other characters, I went straight to level 18 immediately after beating him-- I was level 13. So I don't know nor am I worrying about how much I'll level, from level 6. ;p

As far as these strategies go, I can't say I haven't been trying them.

I take insane damage from his arrows alone, and I'm still working on my timing with the spells because even if I get off Meteor Shower and Firestorm before him, soon as he gets up he hits me with 2 or 3 arrows and I'm done.

And no, it's not the weakness of my armor-- I have desert collectors' set.

Obviously you either didn't try out Iron Mist like I suggested, or at your lvl you don't have the points to make Iron Mist last long enough. Damage immunity FTW.

I tried it but gave up on it, because he NEVER casts it. >/

This is also the case with the monk life attunement+heal breeze trick, where you're supposed to let HIM cast LA, while you out-wand him.

I don't know if it's the patch or what... but he's not casting this stuff. >.>

Bring monk skills, forget the ele stuff. Pacifism, amity, etc etc. Silly stuff that doesn't matter if he casts on you. Then bring a couple of smite skills, and use the smite,ignore the rest.

Just level up normally like you're supposed to do, the dopple wasn't meant to be exploited at level 6 anyway, what did you do leech off of other groups to get you there? They should put a level limit for ascension to at least lvl 15 I think.
