its a great idea.. the only problem with it being thoose who have custome interfaces..
i have my all diff to standard, and with my party list in teh bottom left, and my skill bar vertically next to it for quick casting there is no space to see if they are enchanted
and if a icon came up for each enchant imagine the chaos for ageis, guardian, reversal, viel, etc. each time they went up and down.

No no... just maintained enchantments. Aegis does not currently show up next to your bonds where you double-click to remove, does it? I'm not talking about all enchantments. Just the ones that require energy regen upkeep.

Thanks a lot Kabale!

As long as it's sticking out and not covering anything up, it's well worth doing it that way than the current way.

Besides, they could make it optional.

i dont really see how it can be made optional.. even still 5 or 6 enchantments sticking out fromt eh side of a player even on teh smallest interface setting still sticks out a distance

What also would be nice to see your team mates energy bar as well. :l Cause, there are times that monks are drained due to poor energy management or just Energy Denial. People need to know that when monks have no energy they can't heal. O___O!

But yeah, I often find times when bonding, I end up casting bonding the wrong person because I hate rescrolling through my maintaining boxes. :L

That's got to be the longest and most unique "/signed" I've seen on this forum.

Yeah, I waste mana sometimes just recasting bond on a person who already has it. That's why this is sorely needed.

I made a little more detailed mockup. The icons would overlap a bit but you can still tell what they are easily.

The problem with putting enchant icons with the party, is that you start running into cosmetic issues, when you multiple 4 bonds on one person. It starts looking cluttered.

But I still would like some indication of what bonds have been removed, so that I can reapply. And removing bonds manually IS a little time consuming.

I might suggest an Enchantment panel, that can be toggled like the Mini-Map, Inventory, Friends List, etc... You could toggle a box that gives you a list of players that have enchantments on them. It would have rather limited functionality, as most classes really don't have that many enchantments they can cast on other players. But it would solve any clutter issues you might have.

I don't think it would look cluttered even with 4 maintained enchantments on one person. And that's an extreme case: half your skillbar and all of your energy regen on one person. And if you're going that much out of your way for maintained enchantments, I think those icons would be more "useful information" than "clutter" to you. In any case it would certainly be less clutter than an "enchantment interface" or a bunch of messages in the chat window.

I also want to point out that Watchful Spirit can be an awesome spell to use, but only with a better enchantment GUI. I used it in Tombs UW a while back and it was pretty nice, I just had trouble trying to keep track of which ones to removed to create the heal effect.

Ah, then there's Holy Veil, same thing.

Great idea.. as long as it is only for maintained enchantments. The idea is that you aren't gaining any information that you didn't have before, it is only laid out in a more intuitive fasion.

Excellent idea, I'm sure every bonder wants to see this implemented.

In a situation like this is just becomes a guessing game if one gets removed...

WTF? Man, that's bold! I salute you. /salute

Did you actually do that in a combat situation or are you just loading your enchantment bar just to make a point?

It can't be maintained for long, as long as people are getting attacked it's fine, as soon as energy from balts slows down then I have to start cancelling down to 8 max.. again the problem of which enchantment to cancel for who come's into play.

Good idea. I think they made it double-click before because they wanted it to be somewhat difficult so that you don't remove enchantments by accident. But... it's a little too difficult as it is.

Even if they fixed it so that the double-click actually worked every time, I think I'd still prefer a single-click solution. Let's say you need to remove exactly 3 enchantments, no more no less. Well that means some frantic clicking that you may get lost in and over click.

Right-click just makes sense now that you mention it.

The energy things at the bottom of the person's name is a good idea to get an idea of how fast it degenerates when bonding. I also like the icon next to the name to show what enchantment is on which person.

Nice idea! Yea, I hate it when an enchant is stripped... Though maybe they could have a counter, like the minion counter that shows how many enchants are mantainted, so your not counting up and down across the hp window.

edit: Not much use if i forget to sign it, XD.

Remember, that some things appear to be "unhandy" for a reason.

I believe it's probably the same reasoning* that goes behind not being able to easily target your own summoned spirits or minions or being able to see all the buffs/conditions on other targets. Also, consider the fact that we have no combat log, a line by line record of every action during a battle with damage numbers, etc.

Also, by not having these things, the load between client and server is decreased somewhat.

However, I like the idea, but I don't think it will be implemented due to my reasons listed above.

It's a suggestion thread.

Thread topics tend to get closed if they have any similarities to an old topic regardless of age. This one is either considered unique enough or it's just lucky.

(ie: a suggestion for spontaneous, mutually acceptable dueling while in explorable areas was closed because 6 months before a suggestion was made to have spontaneous dueling in arenas...instant arena matches...)

Soooo, necromancy is what you get.

I suggested this idea just yesterday, but I didn't know that there was this place for do this and that someone had already posted it... That's great, I was thinking to be the only one and, consequentially, to be not normal!
So I /sign it again and again!
For explain better the problem, I prepared two images.
This is the actual situation:
http://static.filefront.com/images/p...bqcdkgfwbu.jpg
This should be the perfect situation:
http://static.filefront.com/images/p...ifoqvzrczr.jpg
Of course this just for the bonder, not for all players.
Really hope someone of GW team take this in consideration...

since you can only maintain enough enchants to have -10 degen (at MOST situations thats 14 enchants as a bonder, 15 if u have succor on you)
since you can only have 8 skills, the MOST that will be on another char is 8, chances are ur using bsig and mantra of inscriptions, so thats a max of 6.
which means only 6 enchantments maintained on any 1 person, which imho can fit on a bar below teh party members name or w/e to see whats on them.

*shrugs* its 1am and im rambling.
