What's up with keys?

When the keybased chests came in I find a couple off monsters. Now I don't get any ever. The chests seem useless unless I buy key for stupid money. Is this just me being very unlucky or have Arena decided to ditch key (and if so why?)

I still find the odd key. Not very often, but I do.

I have found one since the patch. It was a shiverpeak key.

i found 3 shiverpeak and 2 miners keys over the last day. Maybe just lucky.

think of keys like you do dyes. they drop near never, and they're exspensive.

also, they have next to no use...unless you get lucky. like black dye.

I have found lots of keys. I get a lot soloing for cash which I do in areas where mobs are low level, so the chest loot sucks anyway... athough once in a long while you can get a decent weapon upgrade.

As for good chests... I think it's a racket. I spent a couple of hours in fissure the other day and we passed a half dozen chests, but no one brought keys. I spent a couple of hours in sorrow's furnace and we passed several chests and no one brought keys. A couple of weeks ago I found a phantom key in the underworld but I have yet to find a chest to put it in.

It's a racket. If no one has keys, lots of chests spawn. If someone has a key, no chests. :-P

The UW is a great money sink -- 1 plat entrance fee so you can have your ass handed to you in 5 minutes. Why not pass out free keys as you go in? It keeps bringing back all the suckers like me.

As I have been leveling a new monk since the update I have had a fair amount of keys drop to me. Acutally I get more now than since the beginning of the update. Either ANet bumped up the key drop ever so slightly or I'm just getting a lot luckier lately.

I've gotten 2 keys from drops (one I got yesterday). Magamma and a steel key

By the way, the only keys worth keeping, in my opinon, are Shiverpeaks keys and later. So the keys for South Shiver, Sorrows Furnace, Fire Islands, and UW/FoW.
