Guild Wars Halloween Costume
Kaeli Stormborn
My Guild Wars costume finished in time for Halloween. Comments and suggestions appreciated.
Kago Seirei
Eww Knights. xD j/k. Not bad. o.o Do you make all that stuff yourself, carving and shizzle? :/ Should've made 15k Platemail. x3 Or even better. Obsidian! :O!
PieXags
You're one weird person. Pretty neat though.
Mango Midget
Someone has to much time on their hands, and BTW nice costume.
Knight of Eternal Darknes
lol are you gonna dress up like that when the expansion comes out when you go to buy it at the store?
LifeInfusion

November Raine

Elena

TwilightOblivion
wow, this kid is crazy about Guild wars. theres posters and even a carboard cut-out in there. Where the hell do you get a guild wars cardboard cutout?
fenix
Holy freakin' crap! THATS INSANE! Dude, that looks so cool. You should make Warrior Fissure Armor. That would be cool. So what'd you make it from?
Gustav Gloomp
ur obsessed to the max mate. the costume looks cool, mango midget is right. i think u hav too much spare time.
pyrohex
That's a hell of a lot of GW fangear. I'm impressed at your workmanship. I'm tempted to say that your time might be better spent on non-GW things...:X
lyra_song
Its a constructive hobby. Id rather be a geek and spend my money on silly stuff than drugs and alcohol ;P
pyrohex
Second comment, I know.
I'd personally have chosen to make the Fiery Dragon Sword. Put some slow burning, time released gel inside the sword part - which, of course, has plenty of little holes all over the place. Then you set it on fire and laugh.

How much is one of those going to set me back?

Prince Daniel
ummm well the costume is ok............ummm one i would think it was sad if u bought it....... to make it??????
Claire Wolf
Very nice job! Looks like your dedicated to your guild too since you made the cape. Must have taken forever to make this, but I'm guessing it's worth it to see uber results like that. If you ever make another one, be sure to post it!

Savio
Pretty nice, although if you're going for stats you should go with the +1 weapon attribute helm, Knight's Boots, and the rest Gladiator armor. Just think: all you need to do is cut up a football, wrap tinfoil around boots, and get a bra.
Missy Osiris
GREAT JOB ! wow ....wonder how a elem air armor look ...
Kaeli Stormborn
I didn't buy it (except for the sword that came from a flea market for about $20), me and a friend constructed it using foam rubber (the stuff they make rubber shoes from), a glue gun, and different kinds of cloth, and paint. Took more than two weeks to construct (the last two nights without sleep). The cost in materials excluding labor is a little less than $150.
It's actually very light-weight, being made from rubber (except for the metal sword). Most of the stuff is pretty durable except the paint chips off sometimes, but that can be touched up easily.
The reason the cape is there is because I didn't want to do all the detail for the back part of the armor so it's hidden. The armor comes in pieces so if ever I want another type of armor, I can convert it by just constructing different parts rather than the whole thing from scratch.
I have done costumes for company mascots locally that run from $100 to $300 usually depending on complexity. This was just the single hardest costume to do because of all the detailing.
The stuff in the background like the posters and standee aren't mine. I was invited to wear the costume at the offices of the local distributor of Guild Wars here in the Philippines for a photo shoot.

Holy shit win.
huh
Wow...dedication.
Although I think it would have been easier to do the exact same model as from the game.
The chest piece being one big plain thing.
Still, nice work.

Dauntless
That is a pretty sweet sword. And the costume overall is pretty impressive. Nice work!
And to those of you who say its a waste of time, think about what you'er doing. You play a fantasy game and sit here on a message board dedicated to that game and you say he has too much time on his hands... Please.

your talented, why not try you and your mate goiing into film costume making, with a bit of spare time costumes for cash around halloween time and for gamer geeks
and yeah, some folks dont get the dressing up thing...its easier for guys, you get costumes that cover you up, unlike us girls, and with todays 'skinny looks good' attitude, if you have one inch of celulite, you look auful in a costume
that ones a keeper-^^- with a little slight modification, it could double as something elven for a Lord of the Rings doo ^^

Nice costume...you and your friend put a lot of work into it. I hope you're entering that in the Guild Wars Halloween contest...

The boots are just regular rain boots (the thick black, rubber ones that cost me about $4) covered with foam rubber, metallic spandex, and painted over. The rivets are just fasteners from a stationary supply store.
I sent the costume to guildwars.com for the contest, but I don't know if they'll actually ship the prize all the way here (the shipping expenses may even be more than the prize itself). Still, it would be nice to have the pictures posted, but I'm not hoping. There are a lot of other talented individuals out there, and I'm sure some of them play Guild Wars as well
