It's a shame that caring can be lost on the human heart so rapidly.
However, nicest people - Ming, Stoney, Trubs, Esprit, Don, Dral, Talzek, Darkie, and I guess my Red.
I have more I could add to the list but those have been the nicest to me in game. Ming bought me a Drago's for my first Wintersday
Stoney farmed so that I could get a torment shield
Trubs sent me a Mallyx bow with wallow hugs
Esprit always throws his title sweets and booze at me when he could just sell it.
Don.... That's a hard one, but I like him anyways.
Dral, I think I was told to keep it a secret, but I don't remember - I just still have the little fellow ^^
Talzek farmed to assist me in getting the only FoW I want (mems top/rogue everything else) - he gave all his ectos to me.
Darkie <--- He's just a mess but a good friend
Red.
The list could really go on and on with the great guild and friends we have in place. I miss so many of them already. Some of them were like family.

One of the things I really like to do is post the Random Acts of Kindness section of The Scribe. It's great to see people going above and beyond, like the player who stayed in town for hours to answer questions about Wintersday, or the guilds who held events during the festival and gave out free beverages, party favours, and more. And although they're probably not seeking it, it's extra heartwarming to see those folks and groups called out for their kindnesses.
Reading this post is a just sweet, and thanks for starting it Mumoto, and for adding to it, thoughtful people!

I haven't met any nice people in Guild Wars.
I've met awesome people - Yoko, Ben, Vic; the core of our old guild. Sadly they all left Guild Wars (they got pissed at the poor handling of the game by ArenaNet) so even they are gone now.

It wouldn't be kind of me to mention only one or two names because the whole gw2.hu community is freakin awesome. I love you guys, really! We are in different guilds, kurzicks, luxons but we love this game and thats what bonds us like Shiro did Vizu. Thanks Opal and Kirion for this great community you are the heart and mind of it. (Erm... It's rather Mind and Heart )
I also love my guild, the Elite Averages, so many nice people.
POT, our leader who recruited me on my second day in GW and I'm glad I joined them. It's like having a second family, a very loving and supporting second family. This guild isn't just about GW, we all know who hates fish, who is a real nolifer, who has gf or bf, who is lesbian. (Kao, I still have a crush on you )
The alliance is always changing, but the bugs, oh i mean the [fly] is still with us and we love them, as well as the Cunning Artificers [ANKH]. (Sorry guys, I can't really remember the other guilds atm ) OH, and [HARR], the greatest pirates in GW You know, i'm glad to be the part of it. They always help you if you are patient enough.
I met some really nice people in game, like UUD, who tried to teach me how to run Droks but I still suck at doing it. There was another guy but i cannot remember his name, he helped me a lot in Pre-Ascalon. Kyera who is still one of my best friends in GW, I think GW is doing missions with others for him. Thanks god for people like him!
Oh, and my good friend and guildmate Belgian. No AB without you mate, no, nay, never! It's always a pleasure to heal you while you pwn them all May the beer be with you mate!
Yeah, i know, i should have written some heartbreaking stories and funny stuffs but I always have fun with these guys. Of course you always encounter noobs/idiots/aggressive idiots but you're not forced to play with them. That's the beauty of this game, once you left the outpost, no noob can disturb you.
I feel sorry for those who haven't met any nice people in game. Join a guild or leave the one where you are now. I hope you all find a good guild, some good mates and have fun with them. That's why we are here for, right?

Also I forgot to mention a Ranger that helped me out on my first day every playing(I don't remember the name, sorry this was during one of the Prophecies Preview Weekends so I don't remember it all that well) he helped me learn how the game worked and got me up on my feet(it was my first real RPG unless you count Runescape so I really had no clue what I was doing). Although I was still pretty noob for a while after(thinking that just because I was a warrior it made me a tank almost until after I beat Prophecies ).
Also an old friend by the name of Dogemoto. We ran a guild together, unfortunately neither of us really knew what we were doing so it never did work out. Eventually he ended up leaving for WoW (actually this has become a bit of a pattern, every guild I have ever been on officer in this has happened... might be a sign to ask for a demotion now so that it doesn't happen again). Unfortunately, although he said he would check in from time to time, he never did, or at least not while I was on .
Of course there are lots of other nice people I have met, but since it's been a long time since I did anything with people outside of my guild(with the exception of some ex-guildies and friends of other guildies) and RL friends(who are also the greatest even if they are never on) so I don't remember any of their names sorry

Around Wintersday, I saw some guild set up a little holiday of their own in LA. A warrior in red played Santa; a bunch of his guildies drank elf tonic and danced on either side of him. He was giving away decent things; I got a gold bow and some sweets. People were getting really obnoxious though, cutting in line and whining that Santa was giving out crap. What'd they expect, mini-Gwens for everyone?
What's cute though is that the whiners and line-cutters got lumps of coal. Still, it makes you lose faith in humanity sometimes, doesn't it?

The nicest guy I've met...
I was asking where I'd have to go to do my Ascension missions in Prophecies.. Some guy partied me and ran me to all 3 areas. I asked him how much he wanted in return and he said, "Do the same for someone else."
I added him to friends but I never saw him again, and when I tried removing and re-adding him, that name didn't exist.
And I've tried running newbies around, but I suck at it. D:

There have been a few really nice people that I've met.
Once in Elona Reach, a necro was there asking for directions on how to do the mission, and how close they were to Droks. In local, he received nothing but abuse from other players, calling him a noob and a retard. I whispered him the answers to his questions while I was merching things. he found me, and gave me five max rare golds and wouldn't take no for an answer. He said "They're gifts. It's so rare to find nice people in this game anymore". Turns out he was a seasoned player and was "testing" the people in the district
When I was first learning how to monk I was very nervous about grouping with other people. I felt subconcious and very bad if someone died in our group. This was when Factions first came out there was was the HUGE surplus of assassins. I was doing Zen D. with four assassins, (yes,.. four). Three of them were rather rude, as they kept running far ahead and dying, and then blaming it on me not healing them. The other sin was very nice. She apologized for the other team mates and after the mission, she jumped on her lvl 20 monk, and gave me my first monk staff (Yay, Scareater <3)
I was working on my Ranger in Ascalon, and happened to run into a ranger. He needed a group for a quest, and I decided to go with him. We kept in touch but after a few months, we just stopped talking in general. About a year later, I just happened to ahve spotted him in AB. I pm'd him, had a nice chat, and he invited me with his guild to HA with them, despite me having no fame whatsoever
Now: I'm working for my FoW armor set for my necro, and my friend gave me all of his ectos

when i first started gw someone who was explaining things to me discovered i had been seriously ripped off by my own guild and he gave me a chaos axe. (not very good stats but WOOT awesome skin!)
My original guild leader who recruited me when i first started gave me 20 plat, then the guildies sold me crap items and took all my plat. i gave all those crap items to the guild leader and left the guild.
I have met one person who has gone on my friends list who helped run me to a few places and helped with early prophecies missions and a few quests but nothing major.
and yes i have 4 people on my friends list, and 3 of them never play. but this is how things are on online communities. its the pirate motto, take what you can, give nothing back. hence my love for heroes.
i'v given away over 100k worth of pets, mods, inscriptions to people who said they had trouble or were scammed. i have since stopped doing this. being nice is not its own reward.

I met the nicest person 2 hours after I started playing GW back in July. The person who introduced me to GW was in a hurry to get out of Pre so we went through the Academy at Level 3. My first charcter was a Necro/Warrior. I remember being dead after being clubbed to death by a Grawl near Ascalon and thinking how much I really didn't like this game while my friend was off having dinner. I didn't know I could map out. My friend comes back from dinner and off we go to the first mission where I asked why do people have numbers over their heads and what's a mission? Long story short, we met a Necro who was there to help a friend but the friend had logged off so he offered to help us. He spent the whole evening explaining things to me as we ran from one area to the next ending up in an ice cave somwhere. I really appreciated that.
Edited to add: I left a guild that used Vent to make fun of everyone and everything especially the Alliance leader and her guild. There is definitely a lot of meanness in the GW community and it's so unnecessary.

Besides people that I'm friends with I havn;t really met anyone that was nice. But I did see someone giving away a crap load of dwarven ale for free a long time ago.

When I began GW I just wanted to level my character and get nice armors. I met a girl named Brit who ran me through the entire game with her Minion Master (this was 2005 when you could have infinite minions).
After I had finished the game and gotten all the nice armors, Brit continued her kindness by getting me addicted to GvG which was the nicest thing anyone had ever done in GW! Champion points are my friend.

I met a couple of new players a couple of weeks ago, they'd been playing for 3 weeks or so, and as I helped them out, I kept an eye on what they were using. The Necro was using Ele skills, one of the warriors was using Mesmer skills, and one of the warriors was, although using warrior skills, never seemed to have heard of Adrenaline. Well after the mission I spoke to them, found out how much experience they had, and, fully expecting them to tell me they were right and I was to leave them alone, proceeded to list the faults with their builds.
Well, it turned out that they were pretty mature, and after we'd improved their builds, and they listened to what I had to say, all the time asking pretty relevant questions, we continued, and I noted comments about how much easier the new builds were to play. We're all now very good friends and have formed an alliance. Newbies, willing to learn, with open minds, are the sort of people who keep my interest in this game...watching them set out and discover things brings back memories.

I LOVE this thread!!
I have met some very interesting folks thru my almost 3 years of killing chit here in GW:
Racthoh..your my smile amongst the blood and gore......
Cat..Your my Tyrian sister..and thank you for always being 'online' when I need to vent myself..and talk about the guildies..(And all that RL stoof too)*hugz*
Nu...<3 ya hon..you showed me how to actually accomplish the art of enraging the mountain trolls..
Everyone that I have met in my guild..alliance, you have helped me see both sides of human nature.
Most of all, I have to say the nicest people I have met don't give away 'free items', they take the time to explain the workings of the game to those that just can't absorb all the happenings of this wonderful, complicated game we love!
Keep up the good community, and always represent your 'better' side, it IS a reward to be human..

I've been playing GW only for a few weeks, I only have one character so far-- a level 15 e/me-- so my skills and experience in the game are limited and I also love to look around and admire the 'scenery'. So I have to say at this point, the nicest people have been those who make missions and questing fun and not try to rush through things.
I went with a group of mostly warriors out of Yak's Bend to complete some quests and those guys cracked me up. They were definitely in the hunt and kill mode and it was a blast. I'd never been out with such a large group of warriors. We completed all the quests in that area with ease and all the time they were just joking with each other while hacking and slashing any red dot that had the misfortune to be on the map. These guys were also patient, no name calling, no jerkoff behavior. Unfortunately, I'm finding to my dismay these guys are the exceptions and not the norm.
Yesterday, I did the Frost Gate mission with some very nice players. At lvl 15 I was the 'baby' of the group but again, they didn't berate me for wanting to watch the cut scenes... hey I'm new, I want to know the storyline...
I don't want or expect people to give me anything, I'm perfectly capable of making money and buying what I need, it makes the game more fun. I used to play another MMORPG and beggers drive me nuts. So above all, I value kindness and patience, and those are the nicest players to me.

I haven't met someone who I would label "nicest," but I have encountered a few generous folks in Guild Wars. Most of them offered free runs for missions or to outposts. Others gave away some greens and golds. There are also some friendly players who don't rage quit if the party failed a mission or lost in a Halls of Heroes match. For most of the time, it's because they're guildies/alliance members.
The Way Out
I just wanted to say thank you to the following people...
Apophis, James, Hell Bent, Volo, Midnight, Sparrow, Pte, Husky, Quinn, Erwin, Charmmed, Armed, Mel, Husky, Paul, Tyler, Grog, and every member of FooL...
FooL started out just Husky Pete and I, both upset with the way our former guild was going. James was our first recruit, and he embodied what we were about... fun and brotherhood. From there, our old Alliance and former guild fell apart and four guilds disjoined and consolidated into FooL. Since then we have had sixty daily active members and the rest logging on within a two week period. We are in the Alliance second to HZH and things are good.
I am also glad that this thread was started. I will be the first to say I often lose track of what I am grateful for and who I am thankful to. Thanks everyone for sharing your time and gameplay with me. You all rock and I log on more because I enjoy spending time with you all.
Later FooLs!

I have helped a lot of people out over the years I have played GW. This isn't met to brag but if anyone out there sees this that knows I have helped them by giving away literally countless weapons, millions of gold, and many many free runs, and help throughout the game, I hope it really did help yall. I try and do my best to be nice to people in this game, I would have added every single person to my list but I can't since we can only have 100 friends (Anet need to change that).
Aera Lure
My list is pretty long, so I count myself lucky as a player over all my time in Guild Wars. It includes the officers and a number of members in my previous guild, my guild leader and officers in my current guild, a few people I met through the forums here, as well as quite a few people I met through the course of play that have remained on my friends list for years. I wont name names here though - you know who you are.

Met some nice people recently; I didn't know the rates of running Sanctum Cay but I decided to run a guy anyways; he said it was 2k last he'd been run but I said he didn't need to pay anything, since I wasn't doing anything else at the time. When we reached Sanctum Cay he gave me 4k.

I have met a lot of nice people - and continue to do so!
Every time I do one of my give-away's or huge sell threads I meet people in pleasant ingame conversation. It can be anything from "thanks a lot man - really appreciate it!" to "I'm really sorry, "I forgot to post a retraction - if you want to, I'll buy it anyway". I do not expect people to be saints, and maybe because I have so low expectations I keep getting pleasantly surprised when people turn out to be warm, polite and considerate!

A couple years back, I decided to quit GW for a while. Well at the time I was Selling Unid'd Sup Vigors for 100k :P. That should tell you how long ago it was. Well anyway I was lvl 20 monk. And decided I was tired of GW. So I went to one of the first 3 missions in prophecies. Found a kid helped him with a mission. Then give him everything I had. It was his second day playing and alread he had 100k worth of cash and loot :P.

Well the nicest person i encountered was when i was playing pvp.
This is what happend. I was playing in random arenas. Everyone in the other team had pets.

This morning, I was ss/lb farming with a group in Remains. A Vista pop-up window (FTL) stole the application focus, meaning that I died and my group was far away. This nicest guy (Jonas something) comes back and res me! He discovered what Spiked Eggnogs were
Though it's been quite quiet farming Remains, there's been a bunch of nice people around!

Nice ppl ive met in gw, are random ones, that give you a "think you" or a "your welcome" with no second objectives, while making me laugh. i consider nice ppl to everi1 that help newbies, becuz i know how good it feels to be helped when in lower levels
i ve met some random newbies too, that had a great sense of humor and a great sense of helping each other, thats being nice
