Yes, Symbol of Wrath and Retribution should be learned from Brother Mhenlo in the Abbey during the Blessings of Balthazar quest. That's the second quest/set of skills Mhenlo will pass out although I, and some other folks, have noted some problems with getting the skills from him each and every time. There is a Monk trainer in Green Hills but I believe the reason your friend keeps getting directed there is because the first Warrior trainer, Warmaster Grast is located there and the game directs any Warrior to seek him out and learn those sword skills from him. You don't get similarly directed to your secondary trainers.

Don't worry about it if you can't find them. You can buy them for 10 gold and a skill point each after the newbie zone. I'm not sure it's always possible to quest all your secondary skills pre-searing, but I may be wrong.

thanks for the input, i dont care much for retribution but Symbol of Wrath and Bane Signet are like the cornerstone of my offense right now, it would be a shame for my friend to miss the sweet Symbol of Wrath.

I thought there were a few skills in each class that were hardcore class-specific, so that if the class is your secondary, you can't get it permanently, that or I've got my info wrong...

The trainer in green hills has protection skills. Mhenlo's second quest that gives the skills you are talking was bugged and not granting the skills, I think they fixed it with today's patch. The skills can be gained in Ascalon (post sear) from the skill trainer.
Rhunex, that's not true. You can get every skill from both your primary and seconday class. The only limitation is that you can't raise the primary attribute of your secondary class, so any skills that are linked to that attribute will pretty much suck.

It's Not Fixed, or if it is, It's too late for MY lvl 8 w/m.
My Friend is a w/m , and he has all the skills of both, however he got the monk skills before the warrior skills.
