Whenever I'm leading a group, and they ask me what skills to bring, I just tell them to bring whatever they think will aid the group best, because they know how to play their class best. Although sometimes I will specify a guideline, like nuker etc.

Well, check out a R/N. Use touch skills. Expertise will make them cost less.

However, my point is, if you want to play your Me/N more like a Necromancer than a Mesmer, you might as well just do a Necromancer to begin with. Fast Casting isn't good enough of an attribute. But, I've never been a fan of your secondary being more focused on than your primary.
Fast Casting isnt good enough of an attribute? I disagree strongly.... or are you talking about fastcasting minion mesmer?

I don't mind Fast casting. However, I do not like the idea of making my primary Mesmer but focusing on my spellcasting secondary just for fast casting.

This includes Mesmer/Monk, Mesmer/Elementalist, and Mesmer/Necromancer.

I do not like being without headgear or runes. I like Fast Casting fine, but I like focusing on my Primary first and Secondary second better. :P
