texture high

will get 65-70fps for 5-6 minutes then it will drop to 5-15fps for 1 or 2 minutes no clue what the problem is.

800x600

works fine. lol

this morning is decided to uninstall catalyst 5.4 and go with catalyst 5.1 instead.. everythings works like a charm now all high details med shadow 4x AA steady 65-70fps

Mine's rather an older system:

Athlon XP2000+ o/c @ 1825mhz
512mb pc2100 ram o/c @ 292mhz
Geforce FX5500 o/c @ 340/440mhz

Running at:
1280x960
2xAA
No AF
Terrain: High Q
Reflections: Default
Textures: High Q
Shadows: Medium
Post-process disabled

Runs pretty much problem free; occasional minor lagginess when things get really crazy, but nothing game-stopping.

P4 2.4
1.5 gig's of ram
Nvidia GeForce 5200 128MB

I'm running it at 1280x1024 with Max settings, 2xAA and no AF... Run'spretty go, no real slow downs, but the FPS isn't up there... this can be improved by lowering the REs, but honestly it isn't anything to worry about :dup:

just my 0.02$

Someone mentioned a hiccup for caching. My game is here and there hiccuping. How would I get rid of that?

Runs fairly well on 800x600 res with settings on medium/high (the performance/quality bar is 1/3 on). I was wondering if upgrading to 1GB of RAM would make a good difference?

Ok, I'll bite:

P4 2.4 ghz
512 ddr Corsair gaming ram (platinum heat spreader)
Geforce FX5700 Ultra (OC) 256mb
22" NEC flat screen CRT (max res 2048x1536)
SB Audigy
Creative Labs 6.1 surround sound system

Running the game at:
1280x1024
Max Detail (love that reflective water)
Anti-Aliasing @ x4

I think I'm going to try pushing the resolution up again to 1600x1200 and see how it runs. That might be pushing it though .

Yeah, the latest Catalyst releases have just been terrible in terms of gaming performance... especially when compared to previous releases.

The Catalyst 4.12's or 5.1's are the best, by far.

Geforce 4 mx 440

Running at:
Resolution 800x600
Graphics Texture and Terrain maxed, Reflections terrain and sky. all else off.

Runs pretty good, lags when theres is a lot of players around or sudden burst of actions, it pans out eventually. Nearly impossible to do a 360 turn in some citys and outposts.

1280x1024 with max settings should run fine on that setup... although the "le" part about the 5700 really worries me..

Should be fine though. If not 1280x1024, I'm almost positive 1024x768 and max details would run great.

Don't worry... with that setup you won't have problems at all... it's a really optimized game.

Heh... here's mine

Pentium 4 processor, 2.0 Ghz
GeForce 4 MX-440 SE
256 Ram
20GB HD

it lags like no other in towns and just about anywhere with players. Works somewhat fine outside of towns with lag every once in a while. Tried running in both windowed and full screen mode. Windowed seems to work better. I don't think it should be THIS laggy. Beta didn't seem so bad for me. Not to worry, gett ing a laptop for college soon.

1.83 Ghz Pentium-M processor
1gig RAM
60Gig SATA HD
GeForce FX Go 6600

drool...
but till that arrives, is there any way to solve the horrible lag?

Buy a stick of 256mb RAM for ~$30, that should help improve things for the interim.

If I were you I'd get a new card, tis a little bit weak.

PC 1, AMD64 3200 @ 2.4g
1g of generic ram
ATI X800XL

Game runs @ 1600X1200 4xAA no AF runs brilliantly

PC 2 AMD X2 4800
2g of Patriot XBLK
2x 7800gtx's (SLI)

Athlon 3800 dualcore.
1GB RAM.
Geforce 6800 GT.

Game runs great. At 1280x1024, max detail 4xAA I average 77 frames per second. Ran at 1600x1200 max detail 2xAA for a while, but then I'd occasionally get stutter in towns (which was sad, because the game looked fabuolus!), so I switched back to 1280x1024.

Oh yeah - the dualcore means I can now use Skype for the voice comm without affecting the game. Also I don't get stuttering in the game when the virusscanner does its thing now. I love that dualcore.

Just set it all to "Application Preference"

Not with that amount of RAM ! 512 is the bare minimum, especially if you're running XP.

Something else you can try, thouhg it may have very little performance issue.. is to create a 1GB separate partition dedicated for Windows Swap file.. this allows the swapfile to be a fixed size and not be fragmented. You need to google that up and find some article that explains it in detail, fairly easy.

runs great maxed on 1920x1200 resolution - I think I put the shadows at low though ... (I'm not even sure I needed to do that).
