Seriously, this is bugged as hell. I'm talking about the system the game uses to find a 'worthy' apponent.

Before tonight, we were ranked around 200. We went into battle, and played a Rank 4800 guild. Cool, free faction. But surely this is just stupid?

Won that (duh), then went for another. Got some Rank 2000 guild. More faction!

Ok, time for another. Go in, end up facing RIFT, iQ, some crazy Koreans ranked top 30, then Nu.

How is it that we go from dancing naked, swinging axes, against Rank 4800, to playing Rank 2? How the hell are supposed to improve, when we either walk in, or run away? Surely someone closer is play GvG?

we have slipped a little from 312 to 591 in the last few weeks, but it's not too bad. we only play once or twice a week anyway. But you have to remember its matching by Worth and Availability. lately only the lower ranked clans seem to be playing much. maybe I'm wrong, but it seems that way at least. especially after waiting for like 20 mins to find an opponent. They need a mini game in Hall like they do in the vault for tombs. lol

last few matches were with decent guild though. so that was at least nice to play. even if we did loose. If a team is good that is always a treat to me, cause we see new strategies to try... Or actually have to Fight for the win, which is always more satisfying...

what sucks is when you go against a guild with a low rank like 4800 or something and then you notice half the team is from a high ranked guild in the top 20 then they beat you and instead of losing like 1-2 pnts like you would have from losing to thier main guild you lose like 21 pnts instead

yea thats the guest system for you. at least they require 1/2 the party to be primary guild. should be more though. like 3/4ths only 2 guests allowed. High ranking guests are now using this system to rent out their services to low ranking guilds as guests. Oh well.. happens I guess...

Yeah, i'm mad as hell about the new system too.

Except I one of the ones in the rank 3000-so guilds that has been playing nothing but rank 300-100 guilds (with only one exception) since the update.

I would much rather wait an extra minute or 5 than lose 80% of the time if you're above 1000 rank, and win 80% of the time if you're below.

Here's suggestions (since this has happened to our guild a lot as well). I would try to play guild wars "primetime". A time when the most amount of people are playing. Proportionally, the number of GvG games will increase as well. Perhaps then you may find a guild around your rank.

the system works like this:

the first about 2 minutes the system tries to match you against an equal opponent (about +-100) and every few minutes the range expands... So if you only want to fight against equal enemies - try to cancel the guild-battle every 2 minutes and restart.

but keep in mind that this may take forever - because you really need an equal guild to start this guild-battle-search too...

Good sugestion, but I guess that when it is not European primetime, it will be Korean or American primetime. So its not that you need to be online a specific time to have some continents primetime.

Yeah, we DO play "primetime." We play at pretty much random times, and the rank 3000 guild that we shredded for our only above-300 rank guild since was sandwiched between 2 low-rank gvgs. The only explaination I can find is the system, not our choice of times.
