All I can say: use ecto's after the first 100k if the seller has no clear history, or use MCS's moderator services stickied in this forum.

Be Carful you gave him your armor! u are supposed to buy the sellers armor then give it all back +100k for the item u want in the last trade. In my opinion this is still disadvantageous for the buyer. The seller can still take your money and buy a new set of armor. At best you will be left with a set of armor with a sup vigor n absorb but no guarantee of salvaging them 
If you dont have ecto just buy it for the going rate then use it in the trade or in your case for example buy 300k worth of ecto off the seller assuming they have it then give the seller 100K + the ecto for the sword. u cant be scammed this way. Even if they run off because their intention was to sell ecto quick u can jus sell the ecto (although can be a pain if you bought alot
) so keep em n use em for future trades.

Keep screenshot of all transactions -- ANET has ammended their EULA and is pretty aggressively now about banning. They will even ban people who fail to pay for services like Droknar runs. One regular on this forum (who shall remain nameless) had one of their accounts banned by ANET for questionable activity already.

Not completely correct... here's part of the reply they give via e-mail:
