Why does requirement matter so much?

So, I've read a few pages of posts in this forum, hoping to divine how to price items myself.

And I don't understand the big deal about wanting low requirements on items. After all, won't most potential buyers have a 12 minimum in any statistic they're buying an item for? Why would having a high requirement decimate an item's value?

Thank you.

Requirements are not critical for people using the item, but they do add value to collectors who want something more uncommon than what the next guy has, and they are useful for users, too, who want flexibility to experiment with their allocations in their build without having to give up the use of a favorite weapon.

It's just works this way....Only PERFECT worth a lot,any minor flaw will make the price drop a lot
just like what's the actual difference between 14>50 and 15>50?not much, but huge differences on price...get over it.

Requirement is mostly a cosmetic thing, people want to have the best stuff, even if no one will ever realize it in a battle. Requirement is getting a little out of hand though. Example:

Raus' 2 Req 8 Hand Axes, both with 15% always, -10 armor while attacking: sold for 150k each

Me: Bought req 12, 15% always, -10 armor while attacking Hand Axe for... 7k
