Yea this is true but it is more fun to discuss it with other people. It's part of the whole community based game, I think.

i can tell a story about 1 monk and 1 ele in underworld .. it might help to see how pve is not limited.
the monk runs in front , long distance , ele almost cant see him in the blue fog
he runs arround till all monsters are extremely close to him , then ele runs for a long time and echo nukes on them all , safe from any damage ...

You are absolutely correct. I just posted a cry for build ideas and strategy for an all ranger FoW run on another board using vent and didnt get not one reply. Many PvE'rs in this game are just farmers for the most part.

you do learn some things, like what certain skills actually DO, (the famous example being spitefull spirit LOL), as well as learning that monks dont have infinite energy, and that mesmers dont have an uber skills called "die monk" which causes the nearest monk to, well, die.
ill admit its not grad school, but its something

there's no real need for TS/Vent voice communication for PvE as long as everyone knows what's going on.

I love to use TS/Vent in PvE. It makes things much easier, especially if you are clearing FoW or UW. But it's not as important for PvE as it is for PvP.
But, if you need help with a PvE build the best thing to do is ask in game. There are som jerks out there who won't tell you anything and will probably cuss you out for even asking but there are many friendly people out there also who are willing to help out.
I have a few good PvE builds that I run for my warrior and my elementalist.
