the same skill twice shown on a skill bar?

I was AFK for awhile, then came back, I noticed something rather odd on my skillbar. I saw that the skill consume corpse was shown twice on my skill bar...and I have no clue how this happened. (the ONLY thing changed on these two pictures was the file extension, as bitmaps absolutely love to take up space, while jpegs do not, NOTHING else was changed)

First off, you have to upload those images to an image-hosting site such as http://www.imageshack.us/. You can also use the "Attachments" if you don't feel like uploading.

Second, it's probably just an error...you don't actually have two of them on your skillbar. Usually it's caused by lag.

It's a bug. You can't actually use both of them - if you leave the town, the duplicates will disappear. I think they way you get multiple ones is if you rapidly switch skills on and off your skillbar.

Yeah that happens to me sometimes too. It's either lag or a bug, but like nightrunner said, they disappear after you go out of town. You can also get them to disappear by switching skill slot order, that way you know which one is real and which is the ghost.

Actually from the pics it looks like the skill Arcane Echo is being used. When Arcane Echo is ativated, and you cast a spell within 20secs Arcance Echo is replaced with that spell. Thus showing the same spell twice in the skill bar.

This allows the Mesmer to spam 2 of the same spells until the double runs out, or if you use a non-spell skill AE ends prematurely. Of course if Mesmer is not your primary or secondary, then it would be a glitch as stated above.

Except he is not in any way (primary or secondary) a mesmer, and therefore cannot have used Arcane Echo. Anyway, even if he was - he is in town and couldn't have cast Arcane Echo, or the other spell to replace it.
