Weird +5 energy fire wand O_o

Can you tell me what's that beta wand (now removed) worth ?

Very strange one IMO ... critical hit mod (never seen) attack's speed (never seen) and +5 energy, never seen such a wand before ...

And a question : i heard that Anet offers a fissure armor for the guys who give them these kind of removed items to destroy them. Do somebody here heard something about it ?

I think I know where to get another one similar like this now.

The availability of a +5 energy wand with low damage as a quest reward has long been known. Don't ask me which quest; I saw it on the forum of a competing site. I know its near Ascalon. I am not sure this is that item, but it certainly has the look of a quest reward.

As far as the actual item, unless I'm missing something it is greatly inferior to the energy sword (no slot for an upgrade and essentially the same damage--i.e. basically none) and inferior to a max wand with the +5 energy mod (which are still quite rare, but not as rare as they were before the last big update). It also now has to compete with green items, which even if they don't offer +5, are very strong choices at reasonable prices. So I would put the value at around 3-5k, maybe more or less depending on whether it is in fact a quest reward.

I believe there is a quest reward sword or axe also with the attack speed modifier that is very desirable for IW mesmers. But the base wand attack speed is a lot slower than a sword, so that idea won't fly. Unless I am overlooking some hidden use, I think the wand is basically +5 energy and trivial damage, and nothing else.

Actually, I thought this was a Collector's Item...I'll check when I get home if it's still there.

I bought 3 of those exact wands for 200g each off someone, resold each for around 5k or so (mostly to trappers).

Wish I knew Loviatar was willing to offer so much for one.

Collector for those wands is right outside the door to Noloni Academy. think 3 charr charvings for them (which you can buy from anyone in that area for 5-10g each).

Collector is still there offering them, just checked.

The one Laven has is slightly diffrent, its critical hit -20% which has been changed with miss 10% chance

That still doesn't make it any better... Seeing as it is so easy to get it's pretty much worthless imo.

lowlands exit from nolani and you will trip over the collector who will trade for 3 char carvings.

i need that 5+ energy more than i need the weapon damage.
besides i still have my sword with the longer enchantment in the next slot over if needed
