Unlock Runes

Why is it that buying runes doesn't unlock them?

I don't know.

It would make it too easy to unlock them all, in that case.

The game favors playing over farming. Having runes unlockable by buying them would promote farming to get the money for said runes, thus it is not implemented.

ya know when u finally get that superior vigor or absorption rune drop for you in pve you gotta think what to do with it use it or sell it...

So instead it promotes farming for runes intead of farming for gold

The game isn't meant to be farmed. The way the system is, people who normally pvp in their free time will get their runes as time passes.

Farming isn't a result of restrictions, it's a result of the impatience of players who want things here and now.

Getting the gold for runes is far more tedious and forces someone to go out of their way to obtain, as opposed to normally playing the game and eventually being able to unlock something.
