Question about trade skills

I apologize for asking this question (especially if it has been asked already), but I was wondering if Guild Wars has a trade skill system (crafting armor, weapons, etc.). I'm interested in purchasing the game and the ability to craft items is a big plus for me.

you bring salvaged material from drops to an NPC crafter and pay him to do it

NPC crafting only. the only trade would be for the raw materials or non-customized item drops

So I need to find whatever the NPC needs to create the item, then they will make it for me?
