Unless I am Mistaken, There are no staffs or wands that a Monk can Use to do Holy Damage.
If so why not? The monk has skills that do this damage, why not weps also?
Monk Staff and Wand

Smiting wands (and if I recall correctly, staves as well) do "Light" damage, which is the weapon equivalent of holy damage.
Weapons as a whole will always take armor of the recieving party into account. Since holy spells have 100% armor penetration, allowing anyone to have a weapon with such damage would lead to an inherent shift of balance in the mechanics of the game.
The only things monks are missing that stand out significantly are healing-based and protection-based rods and staves, but this is offset by the standard that most monks put a good amount of points into Divine Favor, which allows them to use Holy staves or rods (not to be confused with Holy damage, these staves do fire damage).
Same goes for Mesmer and Necromancer. They have skills that penetrate armor 100%, but their weapon damage does not do the same.

I firmly object to there being no Healing based weapons for monks.
There are protection based, smiting based, and divine favour based... but what did they leave out? The one I really need!

this is all just intuitive, really.
a person who has dedicated themselves to the healing or protection of others shouldn't care so much about killing things. this lends more to the role-playing aspect of the game. it's the same reason why there are no shields with swordsmanship or axe mastery requirements. it just makes sense.

there are offhand items that support healind and prot, but that isnt enough IMO

There's a similar issue with Inspiration for mesmer weapons, I think.

Swordsmanship and axe mastery let you use swords and axes, which is intuitive. Divine favor lets you use the weapons that enhance healing or protection, which... isn't. There's a similar issue with Inspiration for mesmer weapons, I think. |
i guess what i meant by intuitive is: why on earth would a dedicated healer or protector worry about a weapon? in a role playing perspective, heal/prot monks will have taken an oath to preserve and uphold life, etc. healing doesn't really relate to attacking. protecting doesn't really relate to attacking as well. maybe it's just me, but a "healing weapon" doesn't make much sense.

so basically, doing damage while being a pure heal/prot doesn't make sense. you need to have something else in order to do damage.

HEALING
based
WEAPONS
The only thing I don't like is having to scrounge up some decent staff upgrades before they can compete with a max wand/focus combo.

It's not like Divine Favor is an offense-oriented attribute either.
