Green items now valuable? (been away 4 awhile)

I am finally able to get back to GW somewhat after those hurricanes, ummmm.....are green items like actually worth money now? I see ppl buying them for tens of thousands, i thought they were real common. did arenanet make em rare and i miss it? I remember when we all said that anyone can now get perfect weapons by killing the right foes. I see gold items are still tops but green is still up there, what did i miss?

The drop rate was adjusted lower, but only the items inside the furnace tend to go upwards from 10k now, since they're not easily farmed. Most notably are the Razorstone and the Willcrusher, which go for about 100k and 70k each, respectively.
