I just fought the longest (Competition Arenas) battle I've ever fought before. Most of the time, they last 1-3 minutes. Well, they had two monks, we had two monks, and it just went on and on until finally 2 people from my team left. The final time? 17 minutes 12 seconds. To you, that may not be a lot because you had fought longer battles. But I'd have to say that's the longest random team battle I've ever fought!

That's not too terribly bad, I guess... compared to some of the other's I've seen (180 minutes!!) Still, 17 minutes certainly is a while

Monk-on-monk fight are always good fun to watch

I have a screenshot I could dig up of a 1 hour comp arena battle I had on my monk. It was me vrs a kindle/interrupt ranger, a tigers fury axe war, and a illusion mesmer. By the end the mesmer had left and the ranger and warrior went afk. They eventually all quit when they couldnt kill me.

god I wish we had that GvG battle SS.. I saw one of those go for over 2 hrs once. Both sides were VERY good. and finally we were like WOW. equally matched guilds. cool!!1 lol Finally played the old DP waiting game for a win, but it took a LONG time. lol
