Farming for Staffs / Wands

I know where to go to get weapons & armor, but what about staffs and wands? Hydras? (btw, don't want the Raven Staffs off the trolls near Droks)

I get tons of staffs and wands from the charr. Hammers and bows also.

I go to Hydras for my staves and wands, and griffins for my warrior weapons and sheilds.

Usually, monsters that are job-specific (Minotaurs as warriors, Hydras as mages) will drop the corresponding weaponry more often than not. Try finding some mage-type monsters and see what they give you.

Hydras is what I thought...guess I'll be in the desert tonight...any strategy work best for a W/Mo??

also blessed griffons drop pretty much only wands/healing ankhs/staffs, since they are smiting monks essentially.

Why not collector staves/wands? Better than that 1 chance in 10000 to get a decent drop.

Sand giants always gave max purple hammers and often max golden hammers. But that was way back before August; I did some runs recently, but got no golden items (and got a lot of frustration from those pesky rockshots; wish I could take them for PvP, man they can interrupt!)
