Not sure about the adren, but it's one energy every time you're hit, regardless of smiting attribute.

yeah, Adrenaline is an unknown. the more you have in smite the more you get but who knows how much

Hmm, I was wrong. At 16 smiting it takes 34 hits to gain 8 adrenaline. So you gain about 0.235 adrenaline per hit.

(In other words don't count on it saving your life )
