I like playing the competition arena when I want some quick fun or when I want to test out a build, but one thing which tends to spoil the fun there is the presence of faction bots.
Some of them are just smart enough to press the enter button (and thus they don't move for the whole battle), some are slightly smarter and just follow a team member around (so you don't notice that they are a bot so soon), but some seem to be real players casting spells and such. I had one in my team a few nights ago. She was a real clever bot. She did cast atunements and spells at regular intervals, and - using tab-space - did run in to fight the enemy. It was only after a couple of wins that (when we began getting annoyed at her mindlessly walking through the lava river and barging in without any regard for the team) that we noticed something odd was going on. We did have enough wins to take her into the Team Arena (she was actually good enough to help us in battle) but when we lost one there, she was stuck. We had a little laugh about her there, took plenty of screenshots for a report to Anet, and left her there for her owner to find her in the morning.
The report I send in did not seem to have any effect, however, as a couple of nights later, she was still farming the Comp. Anrena. I do hope Anet will do their best to keep bots, farming bots as well as advertising bots, out of the game.

Yeah, it's been around for a bit...

Quite depressing, and makes Random Arenas unfun. Well, that and Thunderclap. You got lucky you got a bot that helped; I ended up with the same unmoving bot a few times.

Random arenas got gayed with Thunderclap.
Bots are always annoying. But there are bigger problems...like people who call you noobs before the match starts, and people who call you noobs when they die.

A faction farming bot isn't such a serious threat to anybody since it will only benefit the "owner" of the bot and isn't pumping 100,000 gold per day into the economy or "gold websites".
I bet it was playing better than most people do i dare say.
It should still be exterminated though.

Yeah, this bot (Ancilla Tiche, she was called, you may have met her if you play competion arena a lot) was not that bad. Once we figured she was one, we kind of adjusted our strategy to her (rushing in with her).
Still, I play pvp to compete against and cooperate with other people, no matter how silly some of them are. The only bots I want to meet in GW are npc's and monsters.
