I've been getting conflicting information on how armor protects?
Does GW have "hit locations" based off of armor or is it an global "add" and compare.
I was think I if mix all 4 ele armor (fire, earth, air, water) does it give you a global +5 vs all AL or does the earth attack have to hit the "earth part" to get the earth +5.
Armor how does it protect?

Well, it is within my knowledge that the Ascalon/whatever armor for warriors that reduces damage is a global effect on the armor, and that it doesn't stack... so one piece will always give you the same damage reduction.
I can't say I know about "+Armor" effects on armor, but I get the feeling that they, too, do not stack. As for local or global effects, I couldn't say. But I do know that if I load a PVP elementalist with full Aeromancer armor, and I get hit by a lightning bolt, I should be taking a lot less damage if the armors stack... that would be +75 armor vs. Lightning. No way.

Ah so with the ele armor, so a fire spell has to hit a piece of armor that has the fire al for it to work. If it hits the earth piece (assuming I mix) it does normal fire damage. So mixing would not be a good thing. I wish the adapt armor (spelling) wasn't axed when the game went live.
I did try search function but it keeps going to a blank page?, I'm using firefox.
