4 Simple Questions

Ok here we go, Thanks to anyone who posts replies.
1) What is Ascension?
2) Does ascension stop you from being able to revisit old PVE area's at all?
3) Whats the difference between PVP & PVE Chars (apart from the obvious)?
4) Can PVE Chars compete in exactly the same ways and places (arena's) as PVP chars, or do you actually have to build a special PVPer to do this?
huh
1. Its just a stage your character passes through. Nothing exceptional except it grants you passage to UW and FoW. Its part of the storyline.
2. No. An ascended character is only different in that he can access UW, FoW, and Dragon's Lair.
3. Nothing apart from the obvious (that I know of). PvP characters are level 20 when created.
4. Yeah. But get another answer on this cos I don't PvP

2. No--but after you have finished the final mission of the game (long after ascension), more quests become available which require you to return to earlier places such as Frontier Gate, where you face some real baddies. So, when that quest is active (ie, not abandoned or completed), do not go back there and use the level 6 henchmen; get an all-level 20 team.
3. PvP characters can use all item modifiers, runes, skills unlocked by the PvE character or through faction. PvP character also has access to your PvE storage to use specific items.
PvE characters can only use items/skills/runes on their person.
4. PvE characters can do PvP in every place PvP characters do: Competition Arena (Lion's Arch), Team Arenas (Droknar's Forge), Tomb of Primeval Kings (Dragon's Lair) and Guild vs Guild (guild hall!). The difference is, a PvE character has to physically arrive at the place first through gameplay, whereas PvP can teleport as soon as he/she is created.
Since PvP characters start out at level 20, they obviously cannot play at the lower-level arenas at Ascalon (level cap is 10 to enter) or Yak's Bend (level cap is 15 to enter).
