Actualy they do;

I got an assortment of fellblades from there,
and well, half the gold and purples from the desert
are not even max. dude, at least when i get a gold
from a lvl 24 tundra giant, its maxed with almost perfect mods/bonuses

I have farmed in the desert, more then enough, i am well aware of
whats in it, and well, most are always useless and not worth selling.
yes, actualy, lvl of the monsters do a difference, which is why UW
FoW exist. And dont give me that: "its for shards and ectos" lot more
poeple are after items mainly only found in there that only lvl 26 or higher
mobs will drop.

Bragging you can use a w/mo to farm isn't really saying much.

I wish the non-monk classes can brag about soloing. They're out there, but they're far too quiet when compared to the "I'm a w/mo that solos the universe!" people...

I use W/N and I've posted my farming griphon build a few times already. Used against melee only mobs for the most part but I'm certain 100% can kill 3x faster than a smite warrior build. Don't know about other class types though...

Perhaps I'll post a W/X non-monk build farming thread??

Nah...

The only thing different about the FoW and UW weapons is appearance. Ex.) You get a max damage Chaos axe instead. They will typically sell for more, but they are no better that some golds I have found in the desert. If you get better drops outside of Forge/Rancor, keep farming them....I don't.

kvndoom,

One question about the Hydras. How do you get them to circle you? They are ele and cast as soon as you agro. Do you just use balanced stance to group them or do you agro as many as you can and then Dolyak so you don't get knocked down?

Hydras are melee fighters who happen to cast fire spells. They also can't be knocked down, which works to your benefit when you cast Shield of Judgement, because you don't have to wait for them to stand back up and attack again. They just keep on pecking away, doing 0 damage per melee attack but taking 41 themselves.

Do you use sprint? I do sometimes and the griffons can keep up but you loose the minotaurs.

Good job! Awesome that you varied it, went with tactics, and got the same results. That's what I mean, study the skills, make it work for you! Heck, sooner or later someone's gonna take the core of what I came up with and make it work even better than what I have. And I'll be proud of the person who does. I like seeing you guys get creative. Kills bugs dead!

Let me see your build solo 8 Hydras at once in Skyward Reach

, or 8 Sand Drakes in Diviner's Ascent

(yeah that's 6 but I've done more), or 10 devourers in Thirsty River (I'll have to get some screenies of that I suppose), then I'll be impressed with it. Every W/Mo build I've seen so far has the same fundamental flaw. Guys are missing the forest for the trees. I like your style knvdoom can you tell me which skills your are using

Let's put it this way. +54 armor 90% of the time, reduces Fireball, Meteor, Aftershock, etc, to less than 30 damage each. Really, that's pretty much putting it on a silver platter for you.

And look up the joke Sean Penn told at the end of the movie "Colors." That's my philosophy on desert farming, contrary to many who do it.

Nice tips.

Anyone who knocks kvndoom is just a hater, plain and simple.

I personally like to sprint away from the rockshots. But now, this has opened my eyes. I'll start tweaking my build, and see if I can come up with something against them. Gonna have to cap SoJ, though.

I can do 3 hydras, but can't seem to get more around me because they seem to be pretty spread out and I move slow (for some reason).

I can also solo wurms to farm for shells, but this really isn't very profitable because they only drop shells 1 out of every 4 times or so.

NOW THATS POWER FARMING!

Yeah the time it takes to find and kill a Sand Wurm for a 25% chance of getting one shell, I could have waxed 20+ Hydras by then and already made a lot more money. But if I absolutely need shells, or if the guild does, then I'll grind them out. Not much fun though. Getting gang-raped by 6 or more Hydras and hanging on by a thread to kill them is pretty pulse-pounding. Sometimes they get me, sometimes I escape with less than 50 health. That 2 second window before Dolyak is ready again sometimes is JUST enough to get you killed. When the mobs get big (5+), it becomes a real twitch affair, but I like the satisfaction of pulling it off by a hair.

If you wanna pull 6, follow the path clockwise right after you exit Augury. As you go around the way, past where the collector is, down at the bottom of the hill, the groups stay pretty close together and you can usually run in and aggro them all at once.

kvndoom,
Thanks I may try that sometime and post a pic.

Others,
I prefer this build cause I find that it tends to be quicker in most cases. Basically if a rockshot pops up, I sprint. The griffons can keep up but the rockshots can't. I hate just walking forever, just to get rid of them. I also liked this picture because of the nice drops. The boss also left me something nice!

Running helps me farm faster. It is easier to get rid of rockshots, and the griffons can still keep up.

whoa, talking about bringing back the dead! Shield of Judgement is capped in Mineral springs, and it's a long hard way to get it and get there. It's even harder now because of the AoE nerf. I went last month to help a guildie cap it, and there were 2 Ardents (counting the one you have to cap from), 2 Braves, and 2 Wilds, all in the same group. Me, my friend, and all 6 henchies had 60% DP before we finally took them down. Ugh, I hate it when a video game feels like work...

I can take you to cap SOJ and I won't even charge.

I run that area all the time with my W/N and henchies. Hardest place is on the very back side if you try to enter the cave which is full of imps and a strange pulsating thing in the cave. Once through the cave you can find and Kill Eidolon and get your armor infused, your actually on the West side of where the seer would be if you did Iron Mines, but we don't need to go there. You can also get armor infused on the Abaddon's Mouth Mission as if you could get there without infused armor.

For the run to Myd Springclaw you have to deal with conditions and necro hexes and of course a lot of Avicara. Also I have plenty of Avicara scalps for the collector if you want any of his items.

I'm usually on evenings after 9pm Eastern. Benkei Of Yamabushi

If you haven't yet done the Ice Caves I can help you with that too. It's an easy mission if done right. Do NOT let the woman out of the prison, instead blow the gate to the cave and go to the other side. Wait and watch until the Mursaat go up the path and start killing stuff on their way. Then go back and blow the gate to the prison. Now you can just follow the mursaat keeping a safe distance.

You just need a little patience because there is a spot that sometimes one or two mursaat stop but if you wait they will be killed by the catapults. One time I went forward and killed the one remaining but that is dangerous because the woman will die instantly if attacked by Mursaat and you will fail the mission.

I'll look for you tonight.
