"Pop-Ups"

I have more than 2 pop up blockers running at all times. I have my machine in pristine form, and there are no spywares, adwares, or anythign else I deem needless on this machine.

Therefore, I am confused that everytime I click a link on the forums area, my browser is blocking at LEAST 2 pop-ups. Every single time.

I can see the ads on the pages just fine, most of the time, but lately they say "action canceled" where an ad should be.

Anyway, I wish someone would explain this pop-up thing. It started literally right now for the first time on my machine, and never happens elsewhere.

I have just had the same issue, starting last night. Popups for "ads1.revenue.net" and another 'service.' The popups come when I click anywhere on the GWG page, and not the links, strangely enough.

I thought this was just me, but if others are having it too, it might have something to do with the GWG ads.

Running Norton Internet Security will stop those. I never have a problem when I have norton running.

As for other Pop-up blockers....they do not get everything.

The popups, kzap, are for printer ink refills, and gaming power level services. tsk tsk....

You guys know porn is bad right? (kidding...kinda)

On another note, I've not gotten any popups. None at all alone, and even the ones that pop up from the ads when I click on them are blocked by my web browser. Don't know what's up with you peoples (porn?).

I've never had pop-ups either. I don't run any ad blockers or pop-up blockers.

I'm assuming a touch of some certain nasties you've gotten on yer PCs...? No problems here, you could try another web browser see if it's not affecting you then. I personally use Avant Browser, and it rocks.

The popup issue I've been having recently is more of a malware that randomly sets popups to display upon clicking the screen.

Up until recently I passed it off as something I got from an E-Mail bug/download/whatever, but then I got it on my home computer, as well.

The only sites that I visit both on this laptop and on my home computer are flashplayer.com, wimp.com, and GWG, so I can deduce that either this is something that's either entirely coincidental, or is linked to one of these three sites.

The major popup I get is "search inqwire.com"

I use Mcafee virus scan on my laptop and Norton on my home computer. Neither has picked up anything wrong up to this point. I've also run an Adaware scan, Spybot S&D, and CWShredder, and nothing has been found.

On a sidenote, no ordinary popups are coming through XD just these baddies

I've checked our advertisers and I don't see any Inqwire.com.

We dont have any popups and never should, if theres a popup upon clicking a link, most likely its some spyware that displays ads based on links you click on websites.

I need screenshots of these popups to be able to show them to the ad networks, but I highly doubt it is our ads.

The most important question would be, does it only happen on guild wars guru?

I've come to the conclusion that it was probably some bug I had... I haven't gotten a single popup in days, now. So it's a good thing

I have a set amount of sites I frequent, and any that I go to new are not first seen on this one. The other machine has no pop-ups either. Only when I go to gwg. Of late, my blockers seem to have been blocking less of them, but it still occurs. The other night, I was in OTAA area of these forums, and one got PAST my stuff, and it was for vonage long distance....

I am starting to wonder if you guys have some scripts hidden in your forum code that do not belong there. Just a curiosity.
