Actually, what i'd like to see is that monster in the water.
I've seen it twice in the game, in two seperate areas.
I've been DYING to know what that scaly thing in the water is.

the best thing would be a weapon only dropped by the mad king which is like a crazy scythe but with unique mods that cant be gotten from anywhere else, and theres a weapon for every class or something. this ended up being a bad idea.

I don't think the King will be part of the original plot. Chances are that he will be indestructible and will own us all before we say "dude are you ok?" to the guy next to us.

I'm set on King Doric.
In the manual, it says he was the leader of the human tribes.
Quotes from the passage [page 29-30] causingme to believe so:
"When al seemed lost, it was King Doric, the leader of the united human tribes himself, who made the long trek to Arah, the city of the gods, on the Orrian peninsula.He gained an audience with the creators and begged them to help, to bring peace to the land once again.
The gods heard his please, and they intervened.
.... magic gathered... put into one stone.... smashed into five pieces... spread around Tyria...
The gods told King DOric that since he had asked for peace, he and his descendants must carry the burden of protecting the stones. As an additonal precaution, they used a drop of King Doric's blood to seal each of the stones."
Which, I believe, would cause his spirit to be angry enough to return all mad and crazed to rape the children of Tyria and burn the men.

Is the Mad King a giant candy corn? Because at lion's arch you can party with "Mad King's Bodyguard"s and when you go outside they're just huge oversized candy corns put together (their also necromancers)
