Yes very nice, i hvnt made it to the underworld but i have done my fair share of solo trapping, ettins ect. Your build is definatly better than mine, but i will put mine down for the fun of it

I know, nothing steller but it works for me pretty well, sometimes ill take out dirt for a prep like choking gas to deal with casters, or poison arrow to give them another condition
basically i sit and put up about 3 sets, (3flame,3barb,2dust) and pull. I focus on them to watch for healing and use distract, then i put out Mantra of conentration and put out Dust again while ther still blind from dust 1, then i proceed with flame barb ect, then Troll, then Dirt, then flame, if they're still around i run like hell with escape
Ok so Everbody has opinions on the WS level thing, as well as the use of and the Serpents Quickness, Engergizing WIng Quick zeph. So i compiled a math breakdown to understand the real effects a litle better.
Solo or in groups i Usually put down between 2 and 3 sets of 3 traps. Lets talk solo first. With the build mentioned above below is possible, but tweaking BM for EW and switching some things around u may get more 1 more down.
With no SQ, EW, QZ a Ranger with Druid can put down 8 traps in under 60 sec
With SQ the same ranger can put down 9 traps in under 60 secs
With EW and QZ up that same ranger can put up 10 traps and have plenty left over energy
And with all 3 up the ranger can just squeek out 11 if you do it in the right order
You could possibly get 1 more trap holding a staff with +15 energy, but really your recharge times r what hold you back the most, not energy.
So in my opinion serpents is Ok, but not necessary for just 1 more trap in 60 secs, and if your just using it to speed up laying down 2 sets cause your impatient, well, i understand cause sometimes trapping is slow. As far as groups go, your fools to not have 1 ranger bring EW and another to bring QZ. In groups i think only the puller might need SQ so he can get done with his traps first and prepare for pull.
I Seem to think that having a Maxed out WS is not the most important thing for a trapper, Engergy and recharge management is more important. I Reallly REALLY need to cap oath shot.
Ok, best case scenario with no running Mobs ill post total possible dmg for WS from lvls 12 to 16 for 1 set(flame, barb, dust). I am going to EXCLUDE the bleeding Dmg differerances cause if your trapping they shouldnt last longer than 20 secs anyway, and the max diff in bleeding duration is only 5 seconds best case scenario
Anyway 1 set
WS 12 = 289
WS 13 = 300
WS 14 = 311
WS 15 = 322
WS 16 = 333
So ther is only 44 points of dmg difference between lvl 12 and 16 which isnt that much, but ofcourse the number grows with increased sets. That amount of dmg can easily be made up increasing marksmanship, or tweaking Exp to get out another trap. Dont get me wrong 16 is great, but you can do just as much dmg by switching things around, especially realizing that u get +8% dmg for every lvl of mark up to 12, and 1 additional trap, especaillly a flame can suppliment 2 sets of dmg difference between 12 and 16 if you have the energy or recharge to do so. But if you can do it all with the mysterios 9th skill slot that some people almost seem to have, my hat is off to ya

I tried yesterday this buidl again, and the results are amaying, its actually easier to do UW after the update, BUT slower.The new Dust Trap OWNZ.It makes the smites a lot easier.

MAYBE a modded of combined skills..but who ever posted this build EVER.. if i was the first. i claim it as mine.. give me my crown and jewels.
to lazy to quote and in school right now.. AND YES i can say THIS IS MY BUILD. 1 thing.. have u heard of ANY trappers using OATH SHOT ...nope... plus bringing 2 spirits per one trapper i think not... SPIKE TRAP is not into the BUILD for one thing.. read up on OATH SHOT... i would have SOME damage.. but not as much as with OATH SHOT... SPIKE TRAP knocks down BUT SUX IMO in solo trapping UW...as for the coloration in the pic of me killing 3 axes.. take a screenshot.. have it lag and take the pic when it lagged.. the colors r screwed up...as u saw.. i posted another pic with the pumpkin on right after the halloween event..
before the updat my build....as for the lack of info on how to use the build... i chickened out and erased it all hoping ppl wont abuse it and get it nerfed..and yet it did..so THAT SUCKED.
also serpents quickness is a SHITTY skill in soloing.
WHY being SQ if u need the skill spot.. for something else.. wut else is EW and QZ for.. sq and the spirits is a waste of a space.
the new build i know use.. is as follows... not as great.. seems to work.. but not always.... spent 20 k on 248 exp per axe..and really crappy gold and items that wont even reach 10 k.so ya live and learn.

People have always used oath shot to trap at the opponent's feet... It's a fine build but as other have mentioned you hardly claim to be the sole inventor.
Because of its knockdown, spike trap is very useful, especially with the new AI. Keeping the monsters knocked down allows your other traps to properly go off.

ok... SPIKE TRAP.. as i said.. SUX within SOLO TRAPPING UW.. u try tell em the diffrence.. without oath shot can u survive when whirling is still charging???? no i dont think u can.. can u set traps when your whirling is GONE...and your spike trap is charged and u get interrupted.. SPIKE TRAP HAS NO USE IN SOLO TRAPPING UW.. yes its a good skill but not for solo.

Its very nice, by dropping Throw dirt for Apply POsion you dont loose anything,coz U can set dust trap as many times as u want with OS:And Apply Posion adds a nice degen.

Try page one of Ranger Basics. You are not a beauitful and unique snowflake. Stop pretending you are and learn how to capitalize. Oath Shot has been a staple for trapper builds since the beta events.

First off, you would not notice anyone using it, since they would be soloing. If I were you, I would not go off on an iQ member about "unique" builds. I have a strange suspicion that iQ has tried so many different builds it is not even funny.
Second of all, saying solo trapper builds did not ever use oath shot before this is like saying PvP mesmers never used energy burn. Lets see, these traps work great, but take a long time to recharge, wonder how I can speed that up, hmmm. . .

You do a lot dmg with AP which helps killing those aaxtes quicker.Also u never run low on energy with EW and+15 En. staff.Sometimes i would drop QZ for Throw Dirt to give me more protection.Also u can run into difficulties with smites-they use SoJ which can screw u up, be carefull and set ur traps before they runb up to you.Now youve succesfully completed a solo Ranger smite run.Cheers

Yea in case we havnt already covered this i cant see hows it yours i was runin the same build 2 months after the games release but yea nice you discovered it for your self oath shot does work with ids build
