Best defense pet

I am creating a barragebot somewhat based on the guide and was wondering which pet would best fit my interests. I will probably only have 4 in the beast skill. I also dont plan on reviving the pet during a battle. What I need is a pet that will just tank as long as possible. I right now have a lvl 3 warthog but it does not seem to get to attention of anything. The enemies just ignore it. Which pet is best for this situation?

if you pet is only level 3 then you can't tell how good it will really be at this point, you should try to get a bear if possible. a tread like this has already been posted by the way.

just get a big animal ^^ pick soon, the sooner you get it, the faster you can level it up.
