blessed signet is almost exclusively used by life bonding monks, as a way to keep up those bonds. i just wanted to do some calculations on exactly how much energy it returns, and heres the result:

blessed signet returns 3 energy every 10 seconds, per maintained enchantment (assuming you have enough divine favor). since 1 energy every 3 seconds is 1 pip, 3 energy every 10 seconds is .9 pips

which basically means that blessed signet reduces the cost of a maintained enchantment by 90% - from -1 pip to -.1 pips.

but. if you use mantra of inscriptions, you can further decrease that amount... and then you would actually be getting energy per maintained enchantment.... would it work as energy management on a monk? maybe just put say 3-4 enchantments on people, use mantra of inscriptions and channeling (just as an example), and then maybe that would work as a non-elite energy management?

and note you dont actually have to use life bonds.. there are plenty of other enchantments to throw around (like mending )

any thoughts?

It's actually a 12 second recycle (you need to take the cast time into account). And it's risky to rely on it for energy management. 2 second cast is begging for an interrupt, and you will be getting attention if you're maintaining a lot of enchants. It's good while it works, but can collapse catastrophically, which is not what you want from primary energy management.

as to interupts, well hey rangers will get you blesed signet or whatever else you use... whats cool is the _signet part_ meaning migranie doesnt affect it and neither do those nasty things like power leak :-/

I haven't tried using it in PvP, but my Mo/Me runs Life Barrier, Mantra of Inscriptions, and Blessed Signet, and really doesn't have many energy issues. Life Bond, Balth's Spirit, Mantra, and Blessed Sig makes energy management a dream in PvE, with all the energy being returned by the Life Bond-Balth's combo. Unless some kind of defensive stance is being used that allows attack evasion (which is limited to Distortion on a Mo/Me), Blessed Signet is a risky skill in PvP. And even then, you wouldn't be able to keep Mantra of Inscriptions going, as both that and Distortion are stances. It's a complex issue, if I ever figure out a maintained enchant build for PvP, I'll most certainly report back.

you could have the monk putting blessed aura on everyone (the enchantment that increases the duration of enchantments by a percentage); that and the 20% enchanting wrapping would give some super long healing seeds/guardians you name it. distortion is a bad idea since it will drain you of energy =/

maybe if you had several of these enchantment heavy monks they could put balths aura on each other, life bonds, blessed aura, etc etc. i think it might at least be worth a shot.... hey you could even use ether renewal in your party if they know theyre going to have at least __ enchantmenst no them, then throw in things like aura of restoration and you got some good ER fuel post nerf

Blessed Aura is a self-enchant only :-/ you can only cast that on yourself, but it affects all monk enchantments you cast. I agree that Distortion would be a bad idea for a Mo/Me, and I completely forgot about Guardian, one of the skills my Mo/Me uses... [smacks head] duh! Guardian is probably good enough to shield you while you activate your Blessed Signet. However, Life Bond monks I've run into in PvP have a little trouble defending themselves in the long run, as they cannot cast Life Bond on themselves, and Guardian only lasts a short time and then becomes a drain on the energy after a while if you have to keep spamming it. Self-defense is hard for a Life Bonder, me-thinks...

That's a cool idea with the Ether Renewal fuel... gotta watch out for Rend Enchants and enchant stripping though... did you mean Balth's Spirit instead of Balth's Aura? Balth's Aura is the 25 energy, damaging enchant, while Balth's Spirit is the one that gives energy (and adrenaline) after being it.
