Get to crystal desert as a W/Mo, do Mesmers Path, Necro's Path, Rangers Path, Ele's path quests. Buy some choice skills for pvp at trainers while I have each of those secondary professions, then go back and do Monks path to get my original second profession back? Mabye its a pipe dream, but mabye its not
(as a sidenote to anyone who is high enough to know the answer to this, is it just me or is there nobody in any pvp arena except tombs? Im thinking I should have waited awhile...the majority of people are not going to be skilled out enough to pvp effectively for a long time -_-)
Does anyone know if this is possible?

don't know if there is such a thing as surendering the choosen profession.
I think I've read on the official site that profession-choices cannot be undone.

Well seeing as how after completing these quests today I was given a choice to change my secondary profession, there is.

Are you saying that your basing other peoples PvP experience on the random 4v4 arena matches? If you are you are going to get a false impression of "good" PvP against teams that are designed to work together. The 4v4 random grouping is not a good measure of PvP skill.

Oh and I know, the random 4v4 is not a good measure, seeing as how I can occasianlly kill everyone on the opposing team by myself, I know something is wrong.
I have had a run in with a couple good pvpers though, when I actually got to an upper round of tombs, and got wtfpwned.
*the majority of the PvPer population that doesnt play tombs 24/7.

yes, you can get the first tier of abilities from one of the classes, do the quest.. and move on the next without joining that order, but once you join.. no going back.

ah what a pity, I was hoping I could do a full circle and grab everything I need for custom pvp guys, Oh well. At least I can suggest this to a couple guildies who dont know what to do with their second class.

You can do the secondary profession quests of all the professions, but when you start one of the new ones you lose the skills from the one you have completed already.
When you complete a secondary profession quest it will ask you do you want to make this your secondary profession, if you choose yes, you wont be able to do any of the other secondary profession quests.
Once you click "yes make this my secondary profession" there is no going back period.

ummmm just for clarification, most of the responses seem aimed at pre ascelon while he is talking around the level 20 point i believe in the desert.
You can change professions at very high levels what he is getting at is can he do one quest, change profession, buy the skills from that profession he wants, rinse and repeat, until he has all the non elite skills he would want for his pvp templates and then go back to having monk as his secondary?
I believe that is his question.

you CAN change your secondary profesion once you get to level 20
You choose your original secondary in pre-searing and it can't be changed until you ascend. (I'm pretty sure you have to wait till after you ascend, you can't just do it right when you get to the desert, but I may be wrong here. Either way IT CAN BE CHANGED)
His question: Can you change back? Almost positive here that you can.
MY question is do you have to do the path quest for your original secondary to get it back, or do you just talk to the person who would normally give you the quest to do so?
In RP terms it would seem that all the experience you had in that original secondary would allow you to just switch back without the quest, but in it might not be the same if you think about it in gameplay terms.
If anyone knows please tell me, I don't want to try cause I'd rather not find out that you have to do the quest for it the hard way.
