Colour is overrated. It's much better to have a black and white drawing that really contrasts the different shades, has good depth and so forth.
Lexar
It's less and less guildwars related. Anyway, it's really good, for obvious reasons, but I think for the style you have in drawing armor, and other stuff the characters wear, or decorations, more western comic style faces would work better. The smoothness and emptyness of anime faces feels out of place to me, in the general picture.
Also I agree on the bold lines, mentioned earlier, your line-art is very complicated, but sort of goes to waste because it's smudged out in the shading. Maybe you should consider inking your lines.
Hey didn't know you were here too, takeko

If only I could draw as good as you... It doesn't seem possible that a normal human being could draw so well. I can't even draw stick figures properly... seriously. I was once just doodling on the side of my paper and I drew a stick figure for some reason, and my friend looked over and thought it was a char

I have no idea what Manga Pens are, so I can't really say I use them. I just use regular mechanical pencils and ball point pens. Sister Rosette
Sorry for the double post.
Quick doodle at work. If I get laid off I'll have time to do better ones so meh. Ball-point-pen, 24 Minutes. Omega_2005
Even with a quick job, that painting looks extremely good.
[offtopic] Could you make me a pic of a common monster on GW? I'd like to see just one of them ![]() Sister Rosette
Which monster?
Because I have a Griffon laying around here SOMEWHERE... But I can't see the floor in my flat. So it might be a while. Omega_2005
hmm... I was thinking of a Charr... but any ingame monster pics will be appreciated
BTW keep up the good work! ![]() Takeko Nakano

That is very nice for 24 minutes. I like it anyway, but to do it that quickly is class. labsenpai
Forced perspective would require you to draw the gauntlet larger, based on humerus length.
"Manga" markers like COPIC are wallet busters...nice set could run $150+ ![]() Monseir
HAH! you say your art sucks. Geez. I should put you in a mental institute for that.

The nose can stay if the left eye, jaw, and neckline take proper positions. When the torso and head aren't aligned, the neck must show the transition. Many life drawing students rank the neck as harder to draw than hands and feet.
If you can't take such a class, buy yourself the "Atlas of Human Anatomy for the Artist". I don't endorse any of those "HOW TO DRAW MANGA" books... Pyrii
I have some old tutorials by noogy that I did as much as there was (He never got past lesson 3 XD), but that was less about style and more about just getting the perspective and proportions correct.
EDIT: His site died for some reason, but I have a copy if you want it. master_ranger_matt
holy crap, what is this? picky-ass central? Those drawings would take me weeks to do. Who care if the eye is lopsided? they look awesome
Lexar
Constructive critisism is more valuable to artists than only praise, actually.
PieXags
Excluding the one I quoted on about the first page of this thread, I only have one comment to make on them. The shading is done very awkwardly, you can't ever really pick out where the light source is coming from, it looks as though it's coming from dead on (from the viewer's eyes), but in many parts of the drawing it appears to be coming from other directions. Line work is fine, but shadows need some work me thinks. I used to have the same problem, shadows are a difficult thing to get used to. So what I used to do so I could get a good idea for them was do a line drawing, then have someone else who'd had much more experience shade it over so I got an idea for how things would look on my own work.
Mrs Hertzsprung
heyas....umm i don't mean to be rude but....i mean well uhh....is it okay if i had shown you guys some of my work too? (I don't normally show others my work) i just wanted to show..........someone.....please............onegai .
I mean, Rosette.....your work is immaculate.....(in comparison to mine....i suck .) so.....please......allow me....onegai. Lexar
What devil's trickery is this onegai you speak of?
Indian
Dang! you got nice talent, hehe wutever i try to draw it looks like this
![]() i think u should apply at ANet for some job hehe Mrs Hertzsprung

Lexar
Yeah you should be sorry
![]() Fear The Destroyer
That's amazing work.

Very nice. Getting a little tired of anime-styled work myself and I don't draw it anymore, but what you have there is excellent.
Even if I'm more into semi-photorealism at the moment... ![]() Good job there, sister! Sister Rosette
Be nice Lexar, if she wants to post stuff here by all means go ahead!
I may not be logging on for a while but I'm still drawin.... Initial sketches for a co-workers tatoo. I normally turn these down but he wants an angel, which is my preferred medium. =D Initial sketches for Takeo's character portrait. Having a lot of trouble with the hairstyle, and the Platemail chest looks too...buoyant... But it's work in progress, so meh. And guys please, don't ask me to do any more of these right now. I'm full up on work projects/tatoos/ application works so nothing now but maybe later. -__-* Random armor doodle. Finally got around to attempting a 'real' portrait of Rosette. One of the eyes is a bit off, but I can shop that I think.... Edited because apparently I can't say the C-word... Flaxx
Ace drawings man
![]() then again i also have trouble with shading, straight lines, clothes, faces, hands, poses water and shadows. I loathe myself. Sir Edri
Dang, you've got talent Sister Rosette. Awesome drawings...
pyrohex
I've said it before, but I'll say it again.
I love your armors. :P Bahumhat

Hi there. You've got some nice stuff here Rosette. Your design work and style is pretty solid. You have really nice solid linework.
Here comes the constructive criticism though, PieXags already mentioned this, but your shading could use some improvement. Defining a light source could really help your figures look solid. I know that your style involves the undefined shading but it's hard to pick out individual forms with the shading you have going. Also, if you varied the line thickness, it would help a lot with distinguishing each separate form. Your style can still remain graphical yet still convey solid forms. Hmmm I dont know if I'm making sense. Sorry if I seem like a "know-it-all" but it is true that some helpful criticism helps an artist a lot more than pure praise...not that praise is bad. Can I ask if you're considering going to art school? You might like it and you've got potential. EDIT: Oh and if you want to check out some examples of varied line weights, go check out Alphonse Mucha. You might like his stuff if you havent already heard of him. The Son Of Morgoth
lol! unienaule anyway good job on the drawings i mean your doing much better than other people *looks at me*
